Such comfort
I don’t have MS, but I have a different chronic progressive disease and this podcast makes me feel so seen. I’ve never heard people talk about their disease like this and it gives me such comfort and calm. Thank you so much for the effort to put this together and to speak out. ♥️
Encouragement for Covid Long Haulers
Ladies, I feel such a kinship to y'all as a Covid long hauler. Listening to your caboose episode, I appreciate both of your perspectives on your recent trips as I look to my upcoming vacation. There is good and bad in stepping out my typical routine and there’s such much anxiety around it. Thank you for your courage in sharing your stories and your willingness to be vulnerable. You help me not feel alone on this journey and you've put words to so many feelings I have and helped me name things I’m going through that’s similar to y’all’s journeys.
Too Negative With Lots of Interruptions
One of my all time favorite movies is Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead. This is where I became a fan of Christina Applegate. I was eager to listen to this podcast and while there are some redeeming qualities about it, it’s not good enough to set aside an hour of my time. Christina is clearly bitter (understandably so) and this comes out quite toxic in her conversations with either Jamie or whichever guest is on the show that week. She is constantly interrupting others and bringing the focus back to herself and cannot stop using the word ‘like.’ I get this is supposed to be “‘messy” and raw but if this is the content week after week, it’s not sustainable. People are going to tire of this format and not want to be subjected to Christina’s constant drudgery. Hopefully, like with so many other newer podcasts, this is a learning curve and the show will be improve. Until then, I’m out.
