Inspirational, well spoken, entertaining and easy listen

Yeahhh! I own a professional dog walking and pet sitting business and I listen to Maddy on my walks all day long and in the car. Thank you for reminding me to get grounded, to keep up with self care, to push my boundaries and always educating me on the divine feminine and masculine. I’m learning to keep a healthy balance between the two. Much love and success to you girl!

It has given me a whole new perspective on how to see life. Thank you so much for bringing this high vibe content to us!

Misinformed and misleading. A big no

as a wellness based psychologist of 21 years I often have trouble with those that work in the life coaching and motivational speaking profession, due to their vague rhetoric and what that means for folks that suffer from serious mental illness who subscribe to it. These people are usually not educated in basic human psychology but want to believe they are somehow entitled to wield the same power.
often they do so in a way that blames the victim by telling them everything that happens to them, their feelings and experiences, are all a result of their own choices and character. It may sound empowering at first, but it often creates scenarios where people facing circumstances out of their control; mental illness, homelessness, poverty, addiction- are told to believe that they are to blame for their suffering and that they can change those things by “loving themselves” “accepting their shadow” and “ positive thinking”. The problem is, if those things don’t change, it then insinuates their life circumstances are due to something that is wrong with them as a person. Now... i must say, there have been one or two that I appreciate as uplifting and kind, but this one is an absolute no for me.

I tried to be open to this but honestly I’ve heard enough dangerous lines of thinking about gender roles and how relationships “should” or “shouldn't” be in one episode to fill my quota for the next 3 years. On top of that her attempts to relay complex facets of mental health and psychology are misinformed at best. There is an underhanded tone of judgement, dictation of personal beliefs, and superiority that to me showcase clear projection of her personal problems in the form of preaching.

It may sound harsh, but I beg you to please educate yourself for the sake of your subscribers. You oversimplify and generalize on topics you clearly do not know enough about. You explained attachment style and the effects of sexual trauma (to name a few) blatantly wrong and have incorrectly addressed several basic facts of human behavior in a way that is dangerous to those who follow it. It is not a personal pet peeve of accuracy, you do so in a way that blames the victim. A lack of period is a medical condition and not a women’s fault because she “isn’t embracing her femininity” enough- it is not based on anything the individual has or hasn’t done.

Potential listeners- spend time with a licensed professional or trusted friend instead of being fed lines which dictate that you think and live just like Madelyn. A trained mental health professional does not tell you what choices to make, how to think, does not believe there is a ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way, and empowers you to solve your problems yourself- in your own way- not just hers. Unlike this podcast, they do not operate under the assumption that they already know whats best for you with little background or education to be doing so.

Side note: What you describe as intimacy issues usually stem from trauma and are complex and multifaceted in nature- not because you don’t love yourself enough and need to understand your “shadow” - Carl Jung would not agree with you.
