The Momentum Podcast is for those who of us who think differently — made especially for empire builders, game-changers, trailblazers, record makers, and creators of all kinds. Those among us who can’t turn it off, and don’t know why anyone would want to. We challenge complacency, destroy apathy, and we are obsessed with creating momentum.

While the rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo, you and I are compelled to move forward and change the world.

We are the minority, the few, who are willing to hallucinate there could be a better future. Instead of just daydreaming of what could be, we endure the vulnerability and exposure it takes to make it real. We are the evolutionary hunters. The most important people in the world because entrepreneurs are the only source of consistent, positive human evolution, and we always will be.

641 - Hoax Mentality Will Cost You

641 - Hoax Mentality Will Cost You

I have had the opportunity to be up close and personal with some of the most influential and successful entrepreneurs in the world during my professional career. I was a consultant to Fortune 500 companies in my twenties, and during that time I had the opportunity to witness decision making at a high level when companies experienced crisis or challenges. There is one thing that every massive organization does that helps them be successful during times of difficulty, and I want to share it with you.

The reality is that most entrepreneurs are unwilling to accept that they must be prepared for the worst case scenario in their business and in the world around them. Right now, the challenge many entrepreneurs are looking at the thing happening in the world with a hoax mentality, and the damage it could do to their business is devestating. let me show you why.

    640 - Crisis Honeymoon Explained

    640 - Crisis Honeymoon Explained

We are in a crisis honeymoon period. This is a period where the crisis has taken hold and is having a massive effect on the world, but most people do not recognize it unless it is personally affected them. I saw this during the foreclosure crisis over and over, the numbers were clear, the crisis was coming, but people did not think it would affect their community - until it did.

This crisis is no different. You can see it in the way people are expressing themselves. I saw a post the other day that said: "no one I know has been affected by the coronavirus, can it be real?"

Clearly, the logic in that post was flawed but it expresses the sentiment of many people. It hasn't affected me therefore it probably isn't real.

The problem as this crisis is real, and the numbers are overwhelming. In the video, I discuss where we are, and what is coming.

639 - Overwhelm New Hires Fast

639 - Overwhelm New Hires Fast

In the corporate world, it's an accepted fact that when you hire someone they probably won't be productive for 3 to 6 months.

3 to 6 months! As an entrepreneur, I can't imagine waiting that long for someone to be productive in our business. We want somebody to be up and running and making a contribution within their first seven days, not six months.

We have a way of making this happen nearly every time. We overwhelm new hires, then provide them with massive support so that they know they are safe. This way we know what they are capable of fast. We also get way more productivity out of people in a shorter period of time.

If you want to get productivity out of your new team members in the fastest way possible, this is the strategy.

    638 - Hire to Win

The way that most entrepreneurs hire people is challenging. It's usually a family friend or an acquaintance or someone who knows somebody. If I'm honest, this is how I used to hire people with very little success.

When I realized that hiring decisions should be difficult, and you should have a hard time choosing the winning candidate, everything got better. Building a team can be life-changing when you get the right people on the team the momentum you can create is unimaginable.

637 - Coronavirus From the Frontlines with Michelle Charfen, MD

637 - Coronavirus From the Frontlines with Michelle Charfen, MD

When I talk to someone who believes that the seriousness of COVID-19 is overblown or a hoax, I ask them one question. "Have you talked to anyone on the frontlines, someone who is actually dealing with this?"
The majority of the time their response is “no”.
I understand that most people do not have the ability to call up an ER doctor or epidemiologist and ask them questions. At the same time, the fear and confusion around what is happening is real. I am lucky enough to have the ability to ask a professional for information, and a platform to share it with entrepreneurs like you.
Today, I want to introduce you to my sister, Michelle.  She is currently an ER doctor in Los Angeles county.  Every week since the coronavirus first hit California I’ve been able to talk to her. Listening to her perspective after having been in emergency rooms for the last 19 years has clarified a lot for me.
Michelle joined me on my podcast this week and I'm excited for you to meet her. It was a unique experience having Michelle as a little sister.   When my mom asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I'm pretty sure I told her a fire truck. Michelle knew she wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember, and she is younger than me. The principal at my school had to give me an exception to graduate because I had missed so many classes, she had the highest GPA in our high school's history.
While I was transferring from college to college before finally dropping out, Michelle went to Stanford for her undergrad and obtained her MD from Harvard Medical School. She then completed a residency in Emergency Medicine and a Fellowship in Research at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center during which she obtained a Masters of Epidemiology from UCLA.
Michelle was gracious enough to sit down with me and answer the questions that so many people have. The conversation that we had was enlightening, revealing, and insightful. I'm excited to share it so that you can understand what is happening with the virus and how you make the right decisions to keep you and your family safe.

The Business Guidance The Most Entrepreneurs Need

(Finally leaving this review after listening to all 600+ episodes...)

Like many others, I found Alex via Russell Brunson and ClickFunnels. I heard him as a guest on the CF podcast and his message — about implementing structure and strategic direction in a business — instantly resonated with me.

I was a full-time entreprenuer who was working 60-70 hour weeks (with a could VAs but no full-time team), yet not quite able to identify actual progress aside from making money. I knew my to-date pace would not take me where I wanted to go.

I went and downloaded the Billionaire Code PDF that Alex had mentioned, and quickly identified myself and where I was on the chart. Both the “challenge” and “solution” for where I was were 100% accurate.

I was looking for a coach at the time, but hadn't yet found the right person. Alex’s message stood out from all the other business coaches, teachers and experts out there by sheer contrast: everyone else is telling you how to launch a course, design a funnel, or some other tactical outcome.

The last thing I needed was another funnel, course or lead magnet. I needed process, strategy and a plan so clear that a caveman could do it.

I signed up for a call, and joined the Charfen coaching program a day after the call.

Once I decide I’m “in” on an expert, I consume EVERYTHING that person has ever put out — so when I saw episodes of Momentum referenced in the Charfen coaching platform, I added every episode to my queue and listened to every one of them from the very beginning.

What you should know about Momentum Podcast:

- Nothing is left out. Everything that’s taught in the coaching program is addressed on the pod — without the coaching, however, you would have no idea how to use the information.

- Alex has done his homework on the people Charfen serves: he addresses topics in such a way that you’ll feel he’s reading your mind.

- This show (combined with the program) can be your one-stop shop for business strategy — no need to cut-and-paste from others’ content to create a full picture.

As an entrepreneur who was running a solo venture when I started listening (not anymore, thanks to what I’ve learned and applied ✅), I now feel like I have a direction and can actually see a path to where I want to be — which is a lot better vision than my previous plan of “launch more funnels until something happens.”

If you’re an Entrepeneur, especially one who’s flying solo and feeling like you’re on a hard-work treadmill, this is the place you need to be.

Hopefully this helps any listener wondering if the show (or the Charfen product) is worth it for you. As a content creator myself, I understand the value of quality member/client feedback wanted to leave a more in-depth review than just saying, “the show is great!”
