I’ve listened on and off for years. While the podcast occasionally features crackpot authors (mostly Jack-the-Ripper related), more often than not the interviews are direct and informative. I just listened to a fantastic episode on the Manhattan Well Mystery, and it made me finally get around to writing a review for this show, which I should have done LONG ago. If Virginia’s family is not interested in solving the case and most of her peers are older and becoming unhelpful, why continue to focus on the case?

Very high quality interviews from a laid-back host who has a great rapport with the authors he interviews. It is one of my top-2 historical true crime shows!

Listening to authors discuss their process, the research, the interviews they engage in with Eric is wonderful. Eric is a professional and he asks the right questions and also gives the authors all the time they need without interruptions. Many favorites among these though Kate Winkler Dawson is my all time favorite. Vanessa Brown’s interview was also top quality.

I came across this podcast while browsing for something new to listen to. It’s was a pleasant surprise to hear someone talk with no nonsense no annoying cohosts. Thank You for a clean podcast !!

I absolutely love the podcasts about my family! My father wrote a book and was also on the EVIL KIN on the ID network- speaking about the Harpe Brothers and how they are kin. I’d love to join your podcast and speak on my distant relatives and share what I know about the brother from the research my father put his entire life into!!!

I’m a history buff. I’m interested in true crime as it relates to history. This podcast is the best history AND crime podcast. Eric’s voice and tone and knowledge is fantastic. He brings great guests with a really innovative point of view. Just great stuff. Can’t recommend enough.

I just recently found your podcast and have been binging old episodes . I find your format irresistible. Having the authors tell their stories, with your prompts, is so unique. I have a couple of suggestions for you, if you are interested. One is the story of the Tuskegee Experiment as told by James Jones in his book Bad Blood. The other is the story of HeLa cells in the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. I think both of these incidents can be catagorized as notorious.
