Are You An Elitist?
Before you quickly answer 'no', consider this: food prices increased by 11% last year (generally, it's 2% yearly). Did you have to scale back on your grocery list? Did you have to cut back on eggs? Find cheaper substitutes for your favorite brands? Many people with serious medical and financial issues have modified their grocery lists. How can we, as dietitians (or any health professional), promote a nutrient-rich diet when our patients or clients face financial constraints? Join us as we navigate this challenging topic, and let us know your thoughts.

Customer Reviews
Thank You!!!
I have been a faithful listener of this podcast since the very beginning. While I am not a medical professional, I am in the research field and have such a passion for ALL things health. What this podcast does is to bring awareness to the side of nutrition that many people do not have the privilege to hear. The information that is provided can truly change underserved communities as most health and nutrition data is not focused on people of color. This podcast has definitely re-motivated me to go back to school and get my Masters in Health Education and Promotion. People NEED to know how to change their lifestyles for the better. So, THANK YOU, Kim and Johane!!!
Always learning something new
I absolutely love your podcast! I always learn at least one thing new with each episode. I listened to your recent episode with Danielle Gray about skin care and was very intrigued with what was shared. You ladies did a phenomenal job shedding light on misconceptions when it comes to dark complected skin and sunscreen. I think the conversation would have been more inclusive if when addressing or talking about non-black skin, it was stated as “lighter skin tones” instead of white people skin. I’m Mexican and my skin is very fair/white…but I am not white/Caucasian. I understand the skin research and knowledge came from Ms Gray and not you two ladies. Having been worked in equal opportunity jobs and being inundated with all things on how to remain neutral, it just would have come across more inclusive not classifying non-black peoples skin as white people or white skin. Overall, I really appreciate what you ladies bring to the podcast world.
Such an easy listen!!!
I’m loving this podcast. It’s such an easy listen and very enjoyable, with a twist of educational. I love how you both bring on knowledgeable and personable guess! Keep on pushing!!!
