A short little episode to tell you about a change we're making to Ologies that I am genuinely very pumped about, as well as some weird secrets I did not intend to tell. But my point is that you can now have a kid-safe show and feed that is safe for kids and classrooms and a road trip with your shy parents.

Genocidology (CRIMES OF ATROCITY) with Dirk Moses

Genocidology (CRIMES OF ATROCITY) with Dirk Moses

The world is confusing, but there are experts in everything. In our least funny episode ever, we thankfully convinced a global expert, professor, researcher, author, and Genocidologist (it’s a real word) Dr. Dirk Moses to answer the questions that we may secretly have: What exactly is genocide? How long has it been happening? Is it a war crime? Is it a crime of atrocity? Who makes up humanitarian law? What's self-defense — and what's offense? How is it litigated? Whose business is it? Why do we do this to each other? What can be done? It’s a dense, long episode with lots of asides for history and context, but it might be just what you need to give you perspective on the conditions — and cycles of trauma — that can lead to crimes of atrocities.

Please never stop reading my mind

This podcast is so dear to me and it is just everything right in the world. Thank for reading my mind and earnestly chasing down those random "what if" or "how come" thoughts and giving them a full blown investigation.

(For the record - I am about to break the top 10 ranking on Cicada Safari, so here's to gamified participation in crowd funded research!)

Love EVERYTHING about this pod!

I can’t believe I didn’t know about this podcast until last MONTH!? I love everything about it: the topics, guests, Ali’s personality, style of speaking, candidness, charm, thirst for knowledge…she reminds me of me and my best friend combined.I get super excited when I see that there’s two episodes on a topic because I always just want MORE!I was already a trivia/random collector of facts type person and now I’m even more insufferable! My husband came into the kitchen the other night to see what I was doing because I kept stopping my cleaning and going “WHAT THE WHAT!?” It was the Carcinology episode and I had to keep stopping and google pictures of crabs and I could not believe what I was seeing!
Thank you for this podcast and for being YOU! (I love knowing that you will read this. 💕💕💕💕)

Salty Charming Genius Nosh

Ologies with Alie Ward has consistently delivered me nerd joy. Every episode is the BEST SHOW EVER. Alie's curiosity and personal honesty sets Ologies apart. Her revelations are modeling a red hot passion for learning AND self care. Then she took a field trip to Ashtabula, OH (my childhood home) for the solar apocalypse! Swoon.
