Giampaolo Tabarrini | Wine, Food & Travel With Marc Millon

Giampaolo Tabarrini | Wine, Food & Travel With Marc Millon

Welcome to episode 1914 of the Italian Wine Podcast, Wine, Food & Travel With Marc Millon. Today, he is interviewing Giampaolo Tabarrini. Today, the conversation is rich with tales of Montefalco - from Trebbiano Spoletino and Sagrantino to the luscious Montefalco Passito, all paired harmoniously with local dishes of the region.

    More about today’s winery:
Tabarrini is one of the best-known and most respected artisan wine producers in Montefalco with its vineyards and wine cellar located in and around Turrita. Giampaolo – who represents the fourth generation of the farmers of the Tabarrini family – is a passionate and eccentric winemaker and master and architect of this uncompromising and developing project. A great visionary who remains true to himself while striving for change, Giampaolo has, since taking over his parents’ farm in the late ‘90s, transformed it into the extraordinary success story it is today. The company that bears his name reflects his character – constantly moving in search of perfection and fresh challenges, with a dynamism that’s focused on the future but with the confidence of being founded on strong roots – on their own land, while upholding the Tabarrini family values passed through the generations, as well as the local traditions.

McKenna Cassidy interviews Martina Fiorino | The Next Generation

McKenna Cassidy interviews Martina Fiorino | The Next Generation

Welcome to Episode 1911 in which host Mckenna Cassidy  interviews Martina Fiorino  this week on The Next Generation.

    More about today’s guest
Martina is Bruna Grimaldi’s daughter. After graduating in Business Administration and studying abroad for a couple of years she worked as a Wine Buyer in London but since December 2018 she has returned to Grinzane Cavour in the Barolo region of the Langhe to help the family enterprise. Together with her brother Simone, who joined the family estate earlier, they form a formidable team. Simone mostly focuses on the production (vineyard and winery management) whilst Martina looks after the commercial and administrative things of business. Being a small estate we all work together as a family team. The Grimaldi story begins in the 1950s with Martina’s great grandfather, but its most recent chapter is being expertly written by Simone and Martina who work side by side with their parents Bruna and Franco. It has been a dynamic last decade for the family, with the next generation stepping up.

Great interviews!!
You should talk about other opportunities in the wine industry besides winemakers.
I handle the TTB international side and it can be a challenge and never dull

Love Monty’s personality and of course Italian Wine

Monty’s personality is fantastic. Funny, very knowledgeable. He’s very witty with the all winemakers or owners of the vineyard that makes the interview so engaging. This is fantastic listen! If you love wine and like a little humor on a dry topic ;) you will absolutely love this, especially if you love Italian wine!

Palm Springs Sommelier ,

Insightful and entertaining

Informative and nuanced, Monty approaches each interview with a keen interest in showcasing the best producers that articulate the special qualities of each regional wine found throughout Italy. Truly unique and a must listen for anyone interested in furthering their Italian wine knowledge.
