A concerned observer ,

An audio cartoon

This show is so unbelievably well done, it’s hard to put into words. But… Let me try.

First of all, the show is run by five millennials who all appear to take themselves and their show very casually. Despite their casual attitude and clear tight friendship (so tight) they manage to take their work seriously enough to put out an extremely high quality show - from the original and local music, the pre show announcer “Wolf the Dog”, their pre show banter, the transitions and segues, the sound effects, voice effects, and everything else I haven’t mentioned - to the point where the entirety of the show comes out in my head as a cartoon.

And I’m not talking a children’s cartoon, I’m talking some Rick and Morty, or some Bojack Horseman. It’s funny, it’s irreverent, but it’s also cosmic and dramatic, it’s full of interesting ideas, moral quandaries, and the occasional philosophical ramble.

In my head, I end up picturing every character and scene as if it’s a straight up cartoon in my mind’s eye. I think part of this is the amazing voices everyone does, plus the very descriptive way that the GM sets the scene, plus the undeniably ridiculous shenanigans that happen which keep pushing the story forward. Also, perhaps the podcast cover picture with the four cartoon skeletons contributes to it.

As of writing this, the most recent episode (112) which is called Keiths, may indeed be my favorite episode of them all, which is saying something because this show is easily my favorite Delta Green / Call of Cthulhu actual play pod of them all.

I can’t sing their praises high enough, and I can’t thank them enough for the way that they maintain authenticity, quality, respect, and candor throughout even the most dire situations like the COVID-19 pandemic. Even moving to Korea didn’t stop the GM from continuing to put out a top quality show.

Did I mention their Patreon? I’m a subscriber at the $6.66 tier (which is the same as the $5 tier) and that gets you a plethora of special side stories, which have begun to spin into a campaign of their own over time. Plus, they do live streams for higher tier patrons.

Creativity beyond measure, comedy beyond belief, grotesque horror beyond comprehension. All delivered by five nerds from SpringVegas, MO.

I’ve listened to the entire show twice, and I guarantee I’ll listen to it all over again a few more times before I die.

Keep on keepin’ on.
