Prostate Cancer: The Road to Recovery Stone

At 52, I found myself facing a life-altering diagnosis: prostate cancer, quickly followed by the realization it had spread to my spine. A man's journey often follows unexpected paths, and mine led to a battle against stage 4 malignant adenocarcinoma.
I wanted to understand this enemy inside me so I started reading, made dietary changes, created anti-cancer recipes, and started leaning on a newfound community of support.
They say all men will face this battle if they live long enough. My journey began earlier than most, but the road to recovery is one we'll explore together. Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pctrtr/support

Episode 24: Bone loss and calcium levels and what your doctor may not be telling you
Prednisone and Lupron affect bone loss and bone growth. There are things you can do which your doctor may not be talking about with you. Get sunlight and take Vitamin D supplements. Take magnesium. Make sure you're getting enough protein. Do resistance training. Walk everyday. These are some of the things that will counterbat the loss of bone density.

Episode 21: Deep Dive Into Prednisone and My MRI Results
Prednisone is prescribed alongside abiraterone for those on androgen deprivation therapy in order to minimize the side effects of the abiraterone. However, Prednisone comes with its own side effects and in this episode we talk about those risks and how to mitigate them. We also go over my most recent MRI results.

Episode 19: I Interviewed The Batman
I was diagnosed with aggressive metastasized prostate cancer at 52 years old. On this podcast, we talk about it. #metastasized #prostate #cancer
In this fantastic interview, I get the opportunity to talk with Clark Bartram who played Batman in the 2003 short film, Batman: Dead End. Diagnosed with prostate cancer in the summer of 2023, Clark has aggressively pursued getting the word out to all men to get their PSA checked through his non-profit organization, "Check It Like a Man."
My first interview with someone treating their cancer with homeopathic methods, he discusses his approach, including his thresholds for getting radiation treatment.
