"Quarter Life Crisis" with JB and Rig is a podcast for those who don't have a clue what their next move is... and neither do we. Tag along as us two knuckleheads (a former NHL draft pick and your everyday Male Nurse) chat about how normal it is to have your head in a pretzel when you're starting out. From high school, to College and into your career... you might be in a similar spot. We'll break down guests who have taken the risk, made the leap and have truly found their thing (what we like to call a complete 180). And what qualifies us for such an endeavour? Absolutely zero...

#26 - The One with the Mixed Martial Artist Turned Acrobat - @ACROJAMES Heugh

Ever wonder what it's like to take off to L.A. and chase the road to stardom?  We only hear of people far-off in the distance that make the trek out to the big city to chase their childhood dreams.  Now, what if we told you that we could get down to the nitty gritty with someone who actually took the plunge and drove to the west coast to shoot his shot (with just 1500 dollars to his name).

Insert James Heugh... a former mixed martial artist turned professional acrobat from the small town of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.  Now James may not have become the Oscar winning actor or the lead vocalist that we tend to think of when people head to "The City of Angels", however, he found his own niche in acrobatics which absolutely took off for him.  He became an "America's Got Talent" Finalist and was featured on "Ellen" for his talents.  But don't let his huge smile fool you as it wasn't always rainbows and butterflies on this guest's journey and he goes deep on the adversity that he faced on his way to becoming one of Santa Monica's finest Acrobats.

#25 - The One with the March Madness Champ - Mike Brkovich

With March Madness just rapping up, there is no better time to get life advice from an NCAA National Basketball Champ, Mike Brkovich.  This week's guest travels back to his college days at MSU and discusses what was it was like shooting the three ball alongside Magic Johnson.  He not only dives deep on his successful basketball career but he also discusses the struggles of going away to an American college and what happened after basketball.  Despite beginning his career a few years later due to his dream of becoming a professional baller, Mike has shaped into one heck of a success story.  He is now the owner of multiple properties around the city of Windsor, one of which being the major local beer spot, "Walkerville Brewery".  But, don't let this fool you... because you would never know this about our guest "Mikey B".  He is one of the most humble guests we've had the pleasure of interviewing and he dives in to why he thinks humility is the key to a happy life.  Who would've known "The Golden Arm" had this in his repertoire... Strap in for episode 25, this one is GOLD!

#24 - The One Where Everyone's Gotta' Leave

Welcome back QLC fam, it has been a while since we last tuned in!  Hope you studs are all doing well!

Now, enough of the sob story... I want you to ask yourself.  Have you ever debated going away after school, maybe for a gap year to travel the world, maybe in between jobs or maybe just to take a break and get out on your own for a bit.  Better yet, have you thought about taking school or your job somewhere else and doing the full move?  Well, JB and Rig can gladly tell you that they have this debate on the DAILY...

On episode #24, QLC hosts will break down why everyone should leave the box that they have created and get out on their own.  They go into detail and explain the three main takeaways from getting out on your own and why it's necessary (ONLY if within your means... this is very important).  They also dive in on what it is like taking on a project with a partner, (say a podcast?) and the ups and downs of working alongside someone for an extended period.  Strap in for this one, the boys are back!

#23 - The One with the Guatemalan Surfer Guy - Dustin Girard

Become a surf instructor behind a taco shop, volunteer at an orphanage, open up a bar in Guatemala... maybe even a pizza shop?!  Everybody, welcome to the insane life of Dustin Girard...

On episode #23, you might learn how to take that risk, try something you’ve always wanted and more importantly… you’ll learn how to ACTUALLY DO IT! We dive deep on what was running through Dustin’s head when he decided to leave everything he knew to become a surf instructor and how this lead to owning one of the most popular bars in Guatemala. #22 - The One where He Teaches Us For The Last Time - Mr. Koloff

When you look back at your school days (that might be right now for some) and think about all the people that played a role to get you where you are today.  Now let's take that one step further and think of someone who left such an impact, that you can vividly recall certain lessons, messages or even the slightest gestures that stuck with you.  JB and Rig have narrowed ours down and it's about time we share him with you too.

So grab your bags and pull up a seat for this one because we're heading back to Mr. Koloff's class.  You see... Mr. Koloff wasn't just any regular teacher.  He was the one where you'd gladly put off your "faking sick" days to second semester so that you didn't miss his class.  Each day there would be a take home message that we'd bring to the cafeteria, and one of the ones that stuck... to NEVER conform or lose your inner kid.  Now enough of us talking, let's see what we can take home from Mr. K while we have him on the mic.

#21 - The One with School vs. Work - JB an Rig

Ever look forward as you're studying for finals and think, "I can't wait to be making money and just start my life".  Now let's look at it the other way...  Have you ever glanced back, years into your career to think, "I'd do anything to be back in school...".  Well, I think it's pretty safe to say that these are not uncommon thoughts whether you're in school or in the workplace.

On episode #21, JB and Rig dive deep into differentiating the thoughts that come about when you're in the school age years versus the working years.  And the highlight of this episode... The "Speed of Life" theory surfaces later in the discussion and each phase in our education/career is honed in on.  Where do you find yourself in the theory?  Is life zipping right before your eyes, or are you sitting on a blow up flamingo floating along a lazy river?  Something to think about...
