Good info and perspectives but seems to lack some research
12/24/2024
Most episodes are entertaining and informative, but they make statements that show that haven’t done in-depth research and/or they didn’t live through what they are talking about. For example, on the discussion about Emos, they said Green Day got popular due to the Bush Administration. They didn’t seem to know that Green Day started in the 80s and had significant success during the Clinton Administration.
Fun casual listening

But the episodes are a little hit or miss. The hosts are always fun to listen to and about 60% of the time the discussions feel thoughtful and it’s clear that Hannah and Maia know about/care about the subject. However, it’s pretty obvious when they’re not super invested in the topic or haven’t done a lot of research, and it makes those episodes kind of a slog (like the weeb episode for instance). Plus it feels like Maia kinda does all the work, and I wish Hannah did more research or took more notes of what to talk about. Overall a nice time, and I listen to most of the episodes when they come out, but sometimes the heart isnt there. When it is there (like the Hamilton episode or the Sasha gray one) the episodes shine.
Stop larping as poor people

You're not poor if you can afford to traipse around Europe for multiple months or move to NYC on a whim.
