Sleep is a struggle these days, so this podcast is here to help.
Insomnia and sleep deprivation are an epidemic and some have turned to a sleep podcast to help them manage their insomnia.
Listen to me tell you a story in the most boring way I can think of, to help distract your spinning mind from the stresses of the day and allow you to slip away to a good night’s rest while you’re not stressing about it.
A mix of fiction stories; popular classics and obscure finds alike, along with non-fiction; travelogues, histories, geology text books and strange finds, mean there is a guarantee to be something that keeps you just interested enough to half listen but not be so interesting that you are transfixed and desperate to hear how things go.
So try out Sleepy Time Tales, the podcast full of bedtime stories that are boring enough that you won’t resist the call of sleep.

As you know I left my job at the end of July to spend more time with my family.
To earn a living, I have started a company to edit and produce podcasts.
From basic podcast edits to full handling of all post-production tasks including show notes and publication.
I’ve even found that doing all of the work setting up a podcast for clients is quite popular. It’s not hard, just time consuming for busy people with other work to prioritise.

SleepPhones, our exciting new partnership
In our experience the best way to experience the bedtime stories of Sleepy Time Tales is with some type of headphone or earbud, but they can be cumbersome and uncomfortable.
So we’ve partnered SleepPhones, manufacturers of headphones designed specifically to sleep in! Summertime relaxation is the order of the day as Little Women help you sleep
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
We pick up with some tense conversations at an otherwise relaxing picnic, then move on to the March girls sharing an afternoon of relaxed activity. Ge get some more insights of everyone’s personalities and it’s all rather charming.
But this is a bedtime story, read by me, so you won’t hear much of it.
Sleep well. 😊
This is also the first episode of out format change.
I’m drastically cutting down the intro and promotion section so listeners can get to the story even faster. I’m hoping this alienates fewer new listeners while still being enjoyable to long-time folks.

Move from the history of art in Greece and Rome, then move onto Medieval Europe, but don’t worry. You will be asleep.
A History of Art for Beginners and Students: Painting, Sculpture, Architecture
It’s been over a year since we last listened to this book, and I’m not sure what because this is a recipe for a good night’s sleep.
We pick up with talk about the relative merit of ancient Greek and Roman painting, touch on mosaics and move into the early medieval arts. But you won’t be awake anymore when we get there.
Happy sleeping. 😊

Our protagonist sails away as you fall asleep. But not all is as it seems
The Wood Beyond the World by William Morris
This seminal fantasy doesn’t really get going in the course of tonight reading as our protagonist leaves his strained home to sail the seas. But there is an enticing air of mystery that won’t be enough to stop you from falling asleep as you listen to me telling you this story.
Happy sleeping. 😊

Sleep will come as you learn about telescopes and spectroscopes.
Astronomy: The Science of the Heavenly Bodies by David P. Todd
Learn more about the differences between reflective and refractive telescopes, then we move on to the science of spectroscopy and learning what stars are really made of. But I’m sure you won’t stay awake and will find sleep knocking very soon as I read tonight’s work to you.
Happy sleeping. 😊

Will a party help you sleep? In Pride & Prejudice it will!
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
A party isn’t normally the recipe for a good night’s sleep. But a Pride and Prejudice party with all the rules and chatter won’t get in the way of your rest as I’m sure you will be counting sheep very soon.
Happy sleeping. 😊

I’m conflicted
I’ve listened to a few episodes and really like the reader’s voice and speed. Calming topics combined with classic works are just right because the older language is complex enough to distract the mind. I really like that. The 7 minute intro, however, I am not a fan of at all. It would be lovely if there was one intro episode and the sleep stories were free of all that repetitive chatter. If I create a playlist of episodes, like you suggest in the intro, I will be dreading the 7 minutes at the beginning of each episode reminding me that I’m still not asleep. I wish this could be corrected because this podcast is just wonderful otherwise. Took off only one star for this complaint, even though I think it’s a pretty significant drawback.
Finally.
First time.
I hope I like it because I’ve tried sooo
many tricks to help me with sleep but
I haven’t had much luck. Fortunately, I
like it so far.
P.S: voice equals AMAZING 🤩
Soothing and effective
A really good podcast that does what it says—helps me fall asleep. I like that he uses actual material rather than original stories, which I find distracting. I appreciate this podcast very much. Thank you!!
