    Tracy has known Lori for 26+ years. She was referred to Lori from her OBGYN while she was pregnant with her daughter. Tracy was experiencing bad headaches during her pregnancy and was given pain killers to deal with them but was later told this is not a healthy thing for her unborn child so she went to see Lori.
    Tracy is an instructional designer. She spends a lot of time sitting in front of a computer (like a lot of us do now days!) and after a few years of this she began to experience hip and back pain. Tracy visits Lori regularly to allow her to live pain free through massage and proper stretching.

    We have an interesting part of our brains called the limbic system. It is here where our emotions are created. In the middle of our back is our thoracic nerves. These nerves are located along the spine and they contribute to the fight or flight mechanisms. Posture plays a large part in how these nerves operate and can keep your body in survival mode at all times.
    Laura shares her experience of struggling with this survival mode before she met Lori and how she got back to a place of rest. When your body is in this survival mode it leads to so many more issues in your body i.e. Inflammation, neck soreness. 
     
    Parents this episode is important for you! There are a lot of factors that growing children and young adults deal with that can change their posture long term and maybe effect their mental and physical growth.

    Today we have a special guest, David Myers. Dave is Laura’s husband and a certified hand therapist. Lori and Dave have a discussion over what it looks like when someone has an injury and how it effects a growth plate. 
     Bones perform so many functions for our bodies, far more then just being structure for us. Bones don’t grow by themselves. They are coded from birth to fit our bodies height and frame. But injuries to bones can change these vital processes they perform for us.
     
    The lack of proper nutrition, that is the common modern diet, has been causing Rickets and other bone developmental issues.
     
    What is the balance between stability and mobility? If you have growing children this episode is so important for you to hear. We have to be educated and in charge to help set our kids up for a healthy future.

    This is a continuation of our cleaning and clearing your organs series. Today we talk about Men and their reproductive organs. This episode contains language regarding male reproductive organs, and things related, so if you have young children this may not be an episode you play aloud where they can hear.
     Masturbation is a very common thing that men learn about and perform during puberty. We want to be very clear that this does not clean or clear your reproductive organs. Actually, it can cause the body to more clogged up and displaced. Which can actually make it harder to have actual intercourse and lead to other issues. Masturbation changes a young man’s mindset (and trains their body for masturbation instead of intercourse) when it comes to sex and this can lead to relationship issues long term. 
     
    Men rely on their muscular structures to keep their body functioning properly. Lori really recommends you use her stretching routines to make your body pump blood and draw up lymphatic waste.

    It is so important to do your own research and ask questions to your doctors. In the modern era so much information is available and public. We have to remember that at the end of the day a doctors office is a business. Most peoples experience in a doctors office if the same… Long wait times, very short amount of the time actually seeing the doctor, etc. 
    Laura shares her opinion on the current insurance health model that Americans are pretty much forced to follow. Her family does not use health insurance and she understands how to view a doctors office as a service provider instead of being forced to visit a specific doc tor because they are a provider for your insurance.

    What Birth Control Does To Your Body pt 2

    As women, we just assume that we are supposed to have horrible cramps and other issues during our monthly cycle. Lori breaks down what cramps are and why we shouldn’t be having terrible cramps each month. Lori goes over some early warning signs in a females body that leads to cramps and more. Posture, tongue ties, etc… Most people don’t know but a female starts ovulating inside of the womb. A monthly period may not have started but a females body has already began the cycle. 
    If your not having these correct postural alignments your uterus can’t do what it is designed to do. So, your body has to create work arounds that bring these cramps and create scar tissue which can lead to endometriosis. Which can lead to back labor, fertility issues, and more. These anatomical issues ARE NOT solved by birth control.


     Proper stretching can help return adequate blood flow to the parts of the body that need it and help get back to proper alignment. Another method of birth control that doesn’t involve chemicals is called the Marquette method. We encourage you to research it and see if it is right for you.

Incredible knowledge

I have been helped so much by Stretch for Life. Lori has an incredible gift and I’m so thankful for her sharing it with all of us. I have learned to manage my body a lot better and listen to it more and to be able to self treat myself through using stretches I have learned from Lori.
