    A Cheater Asks for Advice

    A Cheater Asks for Advice

Liars: An Interview with Sarah Manguso

Liars: An Interview with Sarah Manguso

Sarah Manguso has written the ultimate chump novel: Liars. Jane is a woman who endures marriage to, and divorce from, a textbook f*****t. It dramatizes marital betrayal, narcissistic abuse, and coercive control in a way we all know deep in our bones.

Manguso says, "It’s a novel, so of course it’s all fiction—except for the parts that are true."
During the pandemic, Manguso's cheating husband abandoned her and their son. It became fodder for Liars.
She the author of nine books, most recently the novel Very Cold People. Liars, is forthcoming on July 23 from Hogarth Books in the US and August 22 from Picador in the UK. Her other books include a story collection, two poetry collections, and four acclaimed works of nonfiction: 300 Arguments, Ongoingness, The Guardians, and The Two Kinds of Decay. Her work has been recognized by a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Rome Prize, and her writing has been translated into twelve languages. She grew up in Massachusetts and now lives in Los Angeles.

Survival Is Real ,

Powerful group that no one wanted to join!

Processing the fallout of cheating (infidelity is too nice a word) is a soul-crushing walk though hot coals to get to the peace on the other side. The peace on that other side is what Chump Lady calls Tuesday and is what truly makes the survivor mighty. If life "takes a village", then this is the village one needs after discovering that you have the misfortune of being linked for life with a cheater, especially if you have bred with them. With wit, wisdom and millions of stories to back them up, Tracy and Sarah offer up various podcasts and interviews to complement the Chump Lady website. It all helps to support anyone navigating this terrible process.

No (w)reckonciliation here

Tracy Shorn and her no nonsense viewpoint saved me from wallowing in self pity after my husband abruptly left me for his secret mistress. In this podcast, she and Sarah tell their stories and interview both experts and fellow chumps for confirmation of the ideas that cheaters are responsible for their own actions and the best choice is to find your mightiness and move forward to a new life without the cheater. If you have been cheated on, this is the podcast for you!
