‘Artworlds’ – a podcast in which art students interview artists to learn the tips and tricks of the artworld.

Becoming an artist is not easy. In fact it can seem almost impossible. Beyond the lifelong task of honing your craft and shaping your creative practice, being an artist often seems like an obstacle course of pragmatic challenges. How to describe your work? How to get your work exhibited? And how to sell it?

This podcast brings you stories from the front line of art practice. We hear from established artists about how they started out, what went wrong and what went right, the mistakes they made and the lucky break that made a difference. We learn not about one artworld but about various different artworlds.

This podcast is scripted, recorded and edited by students for students (or anyone who is a budding artist). It is a collaboration between the School of Creative Media at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) and Netze/Black Mirror at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM).

Artworlds is supported by Jenga CCI
