Kanye “went crazy” feedback
Hey guys, I want to offer you a perspective on something- I get there’s a casual and entertaining tone to this wonderful podcast, one that hits on many important and timely topics in mental health. One might even say you've reached a position of power and influence, meaning that what you say gets noticed, and gets repeated.
I genuinely assume you didn’t mean harm by saying “before Kanye went crazy”. I noticed an added layer of micro aggression, stigma and prejudice in that comment that really took me as a listener away from the point you were making about the hard work of tearing down walls in order for change to happen.
Was he struggling with mental illness? Yes. Did he go crazy? No - that’s derisive and doesn’t add value to the conversation.
Elliot Connie rocks
