From Doing To Being With Marina Triner | 010

Join Marina Triner and I in this juicy conversation about the ongoing journey of shifting out of always being ON and in the go go go, doing mentality. We both share our experiences around coming out of functional freeze while weaving in how the impact of our history has great influence on how it is we navigate life. We also offer suggestions and resources on how you too can explore what shows up for you around these brilliant survival patterns that like to keep you busy and distracted. See what it is you discover about yourself through this episode!

    About the Guest:
Marina Triner teaches body-based somatic tools, mindful self-compassion, and nervous system regulation and emotional healing techniques to awaken a sense of purpose and aliveness.
Based on her life history, she was supposed to live a life of pain, regret, and disconnection and have a career that didn’t spark joy, just to make a living. Trauma runs in her family: the Holocaust, violence and war, financial trouble and poverty.
It also runs in her own life: moving multiple times as a refugee, sexual assault, and emotional neglect. And yet, through it all, through pain and working through her triggers, she is able to keep coming back to deep aliveness and presence, build a thriving business and support thousands.

Rewiring Is Possible! Discover The Threads That Are At Play | 008

Rewiring Is Possible! Discover The Threads That Are At Play | 008

They say that what’s wired together, fires together. Here’s something else to consider. What fires together ends up getting wired together! This is often a result of trauma and being stuck in the threat response cycle. By recognizing the many different threads that are entangled in the ways you’re stuck in survival, the more you’ll be able to tease apart what’s at play to support a new story to unfold. Thank goodness for neuroplasticity and the brain and nervous system’s ability to be reprogramed. Re-wiring IS possible! The key lies in not getting too wrapped up in the story of what happened, but instead bring your awareness and curiosity to what your experiences. Remember, there’s nothing to fix. See what it’s like to explore in a way where you’re simply deepening your awareness around what’s at play. You may be surprised at how simple awareness and curiosity can lead to some untangling, more space, and possibly even a shift in what it is you’re stuck in! Be sure to download The Experiential Guide and to refer back to Ep 2 and 3 to support any deeper inquiries!

Having Hard Conversations With Angela Walkley | 007

How easy is it for you to recognize and express what it is you’re feeling and which of your needs aren’t being met? Do you find communicating what you’re experiencing to others challenging!? If so, I encourage you to check out this episode! I’m joined by Angela Walkley, a NonViolent Communication assessor and trainer and the two of us dive into a conversation around the art of recognizing feelings and needs, not making assumptions and catching when we’re blaming, judging and in perceived stories and the importance of empathy. Angela shares a recent situation she was navigating to support us in making more sense of the brilliant ways NonViolent Communication can help in times of conflict and where people may have very different experiences at play. As someone who’s only recently been introduced to the NonViolent Communication world, I’m excited to share this conversation with you because this work has helped me take more responsibility for my own experiences and see the bigger picture more clearly!

She meets groups in the space that divides them - to help them hear the depth of what matters to them, to express themselves with care and to find a path forward together. In the more recent decade, she has been offering transformational programs for those that are looking to cultivate a personal and global consciousness of openness, inclusion and connection.
