    In today episode, it is my pleasure to introduce you to Frida, (@afridateran https://www.instagram.com/afridateran/) who is pursuing a
    dual (MD/PhD) degree in Neuroscience studying epilepsy with a major goal of developing dietary therapies for patients that have uncontrolled seizures.

    It's a fantastic interview, and we talk about everything from endurance sports, to breath ketone meters, and much more.

    Frida Grew up in a small border town in North Mexico, later attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. After graduating she decided to pursue a dual (MD/PhD) degree by joining the University of Iowa Medical Scientist Training Program. She's currently working on my PhD in Neuroscience studying epilepsy with a major goal of developing dietary therapies for patients that have uncontrolled seizures. In her free time she enjoys strength training, cycling, and cooking. She has a passion for low-carb nutrition and ketogenic therapies for health and wellness. She's fascinated by how our bodies work so she's always experimenting to try to optimize my health.

    In todays podcast, I'm talking with @gormy_goes_keto about his journey through losing 320lbs.

    He has many great strategies when it comes to mindset, cravings, macros and external pressure, so this is a MUST listen for anyone struggling with keto.

    Mike's Bio:
    "I have always struggled with my weight. Sometimes very dramatically. In 2013 I had gotten from my heaviest of 540lbs to an all-time low of 210lbs, but within 6 months I had regained almost 300 pounds. I struggled to find a way to reach my goals weight-wise and help me break free from the cycles of food addiction that dominated my life. In 2017 I decided I needed to try again, and for once I realized the missing piece in all of this was my losing focus on my desire to stay alive, and to fight for that life. I had done research and the keto diet seemed most in line with my needs and also with the good whole foods I loved to eat. I was 470lbs in February of 2017 and just over 2 years later I am 222lbs. The magic of my way of life now isn't the weight loss, but the true sense of control over food and my body that it has given to me. I am no longer a slave to my appetite but feel hopeful that I am building a life that centers on more than my next meal. "

Awesome & to the point

Aaron is so helpful & really breaks down the Keto lifestyle with lots of tips. I learn something every time I listen & his personality is so helpful & I love that he gets straight to the point.

Great cast for endurance athletes on keto!

There are some fantastic keto podcasts but this is now my favorite. Aaron is a great host that’s very positive and warm.

I started keto mainly for endurance maintenance and help with recovery from running. Aaron is one of the few casters focused on endurance sports so if that’s what you’re interested I would definitely recommend subscribing and listening!

Awesome show!

I really like this podcast in particular the episodes about marathon and ultra training. I have been trying to get to keto diet for about eight weeks now but essentially just hitting a low carb high-fat diet to try to get fat adapted for running. I would like more information about the logistics of the diet with respect to my training and I’m looking for the show notes but I can’t find them any help?
