Excellent Insights

Great show. Host tends to be a bear all the time but he’s basically right about the nature of things though wrong on the direction of the markets. He’ll be right eventually though.

Peter is not an economist, he’s a business man

Peter doesn’t have anything resembling a rigorous model for what he believes. His stories are very great reiterations of introductory economic principles. While he’s a great orator and fun to listen to, I don’t believe he’s much more than a really good salesman. Interesting to get his perspective, it is not rigorous nor particularly well based on empirical data. I’d believe him more if he could write something resembling an academic article but my guess is that he can’t because at the end of the day, he’s not much more than business man telling stories to sell gold.

Common sense economics

If you’re confused by economic reporting from the tv this podcast can help. He explains how debt is the problem hurting the us economy (despite what is reported all the time on tv) and breaks it down in a simple way. He also reports in economic politics in a non-partisan way, criticizing both parties when they deserve it. I wish more people did the same instead of joining the red or blue teams.
