    During this episode we are joined by Mr Derek Winter DL, Deputy Chief Coroner for England and Wales and His Majesty’s Senior Coroner for the City of Sunderland and by his First Officer Mrs Vicky Ross. We aim to explore the role of the Coroner and Coroner’s Officer, the types of cases typically referred to the Coroner, what professionals can expect if they are asked to provide information to assist a Coroner’s Investigation, and how to prepare if you are called to give evidence at an Inquest.

    In this episode we are joined by GP, Dr John Williamson. John works as a specialist GP in addictions as well as working as a GP in primary care and working for NHS England. John is a trained CBT therapist and has a wealth of experience working with patients experiencing chronic pain in general practice & specialist care.

    Thank you for joining us on our first podcast, we are excited to speak to you all. Hosts Gemma and Paul are part of the academic faculty delivering an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice apprenticeship program here in the North East of England. With a passion for all things advanced practice, education and clinical supervision the hosts will bring you monthly podcasts on topics related to the development of trainee ACP's and advanced practice in general.
    Join us for our first virtual trainee ACP led Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) conference showcasing the innovative work undertaken in clinical practice including lessons learnt and future aims. 
     
    It is an exciting time in Advanced Practice, the expansion of the role across the multiprofessional domains of healthcare presents many opportunities, and challenges. 
     
    Hear from our trainee ACPs and recent graduates, who will share their journey of the implementation of ACP roles within their area of practice. We will explore the development of the ACP role in mental health, pharmacy, orthopaedic services and urology. Alongside the challenges and development of ACP education in practice from the viewpoint of both the trainee and educational supervisor. Finishing with an educational update on what’s new in ACP education.
