Hello Everyone! I’m Sunita Juneja. I welcome you for my fifth episode of "TO HONE YOUR SPOKEN ENGLISH”.

Before introducing today's topic, I'd like to confess my mistake from the last episode. I said, Miracle. The correct pronunciation of this word is Miracle.

I'm not permitted to make a mistake while articulating in front of an audience. Despite that, we are human beings.

Okay! my dear friends, today I am going to discuss "why do people speak wrong English or make a mistake while speaking"?

Here, I'd like to add two vital points. Firstly, we know the rules or techniques of speaking. Then, we make a mistake that's completely fine.

Secondly, we speak the wrong English. That's also completely fine. Have you notice one common thing between two aspects.

I said completely fine for both of the elements. But why?

Because when we make a mistake and do the correction for the next time. That's the way to go for achieving your goals. If you don't make a mistake while speaking then you couldn't learn new things. For instance, a native speaker also do a lot of mistake while speaking. Nobody is perfect in this world. Apart from that, the latest news about Mr Trump. The president of the US. He pronounced wrongly the word Yosemite. He said Yosemite. Which is wrong. But that's absolutely fine. He must have noticed after finishing his speech. So Yosemite, it's the name of a national park in the Sierra Nevada in central California.

Always remember, people, learn from their own mistakes. No one is born to be perfect.

I hope you have enjoyed while listening to my podcast. Keep enjoying and sharing this knowledge with your friends, relatives and acquaintances.

Episode -3 Language Skills - LSRW

Episode -3 Language Skills - LSRW

Hello Everyone! I’m Sunita Juneja. I welcome you for my third episode of "TO HONE YOUR SPOKEN ENGLISH”.

I'm thrilled to announce that you'll enjoy a lot in today's episode. Let me give you a short introduction to today's topic.

language skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing

All skills help to each other. However, the strongest connection is Reading with Writing and Listening with Speaking.

Language has two components. It's two-way communications that are receptive and productive.

Listening and Reading are receptive skills. Whereas, Speaking and Writing are productive skills. For instance, when you read a newspaper. Then you come across with a lot of new vocabulary and sentence structure that helps in writing. On the other hand, when you practice a lot of listening, it helps you in speaking.

Apart from that, a small baby starts speaking from the surroundings. Whatever the parents speak, a child listens and imitates the same. The parents get excited and say. Wow! That's a miracle.

Always remember, whatever you listen from the surroundings that help you in speaking. So without further ado, start listening to a podcast or English music and commence imitating.

I hope this piece of advice would help you in speaking. Make a habit of listening to the podcast. It will train your ears and helps in speaking better English.

Thank you for listening To hone your spoken English. And if you'd like to give me suggestions for future topics just send an email to sunita@lessonslane.com and please, stay safe and stay healthy.
