Excellent!

I found Unraveled before the LISK murders became household names. The hosts have brought a wealth of professionalism to the often tawdry “storytelling” found in the True Crime genre. The LISK cases captivated me, in the complexity, repetition, and corruption that allowed a killer/s to operate for many years without detection. Journalist Alexis Linkletter has crafted a series that digs deep into each season’s topic case, and continues to present some of the most riveting, digested and understandable researched information on LISK as it continues to develop. I never imagined that these cases would be solved, and that possibility seems closer and closer with every episode. The charges against Rex Heuermann are extensive, and still evolving. There are many other related avenues that I would appreciate Unraveled investigating, such as the involvement of police and DA departments in alleged participation and coverup of these murders, and the alleged hosted gatherings that perpetuated the degradation of sex-workers, setting the scene for murders and coverups to occur and continue. Not for the squeamish!
Interesting but …

Interesting subjects, well researched. But the audio levels are all over the place. One minute, straining to hear what’s being said. The next, ears are blasted off. Too much time spent working the volume button. Considering ditching from the library. Also, seems a lot of these podcasts are on Fast Forward, sped up a notch or two. Voices are distorted, elf-like. Why?
Well Done!

Very well researched and written in a timeline format that one can follow. The episodes don’t leave “hanging”. This is SO well thought out in an investigative manner. You really do need to start with the first episode.
Informative, professionally done, well researched

Jensen and Linkletter have done an in-depth investigation into the staggering amount of corruption by the Suffolk police department for years — and showing what a sexual predator and sociopath former Police Commissioner Burke was as well as the investigation in the the LISK. They had good connections to people with knowledge and insight into both the corruption and the LISK investigation.
Please No Mandy Matney

Major mistake inviting the wholly untalented and most annoying voice in podcasting, Mandy Matney, onto the show. She took the Murdaugh story, somehow made it entirely about herself, and ruined all interest in the case. Don’t let her do the same thing here.
Commercials

The casino ads are especially abrasive and offensive.
not for me

feels eternal and pointless at moments…goes on and on in circles. That’s the feeling I get.

Sorry, Dr. Rachel Toles was difficult to listen to. Seemed so excitable and breathless and did not make a professional impression.
Started out great

This is an interesting story that spans decades. In general, Alexis has taken care to show discretion and empathy for the victims and their family. However, given lack of new information while prosecutors built their case, the podcasts seems to be increasingly relying on the disclosure of graphic and disturbing details of the bodies and how to victims were tortured and killed. I stopped listening because I question the point of revealing these details other than to keep ppl listening by appealing to their base instincts for gore and voyeurism. If it were my family member, I would not want this information out there for public consumption and entertainment without some good reason that might be helpful to the case. It’s shameful.
Seems like good journalism

I just got done listening to season 4. The LISK season and all the follow ups were good, made me want to listen to more. The season about ‘expert testimony’ was vindicating as I’d previously heard a lot about how forensic ‘science’ isn’t actually. Good podcast! The one daughter in season 4 absolutely reeks of privilege. Her family has suffered terrible tragedy and I don’t know that I agree with her dad being convicted. That aside, she clearly doesn’t know how to handle the world if it’s not served to her on a silver platter.
