When I found the Zombie Book Club Podcast this past summer, I instantly felt like I’d finally found my people. This is more than a podcast, it’s a community. Dan and Leah are genuine and thoughtful in their critiques of zombie books, games, and movies. The way they weave psychology, anthropology, and pop culture together to critique the genre (and the world in general) is masterful. One of the running themes of great zombie movies is stepping back and exploring society. Racism, mental health, government and economic themes. Dan and Leah do a great job of highlighting these themes in zombie media and also calling out areas where these could be improved (or completely crap the bed). They also bring a lot of humor to the episodes and it’s easy to tell they’re having a great time. Give this a listen.
