What makes this one different is that these folks are co-workers and employers with a hard working and very joyful young man, who happens to be labeled with Autism. He has his current position with them as a result of an investment in the social capital of a co-worker of mine, named Celesta. As a result of her just reaching out and asking a question, Brady has now been gainfully employed for some time.

We will discuss several of the numerous positive effects this has had on Brady’s life, as well as the great impact he has made on his current work culture. Also, we get some history of the company and some insights into what makes them such a stand out, people-first orgnaization.


Finally, our primary goal is to build the community of Salt Lake and it’s surrounding areas. We believe in an Employment First Mantra, which states that employment is the first and preferred outcome in the lives of everyone we know. We have a great interview today with a guy who is proving that there are a million ways to make a living. Steve has a day job, working in South Jordan for HireVue, but he also has a side hustle. Steve is an expert in the field of Pinball! Since he was a kid, pinball has been on his mind, and now he’s running a company which leases pinball machines to homes and businesses throughout the valley. This is awesome example of exploiting a niche and just doing what you love.

Calvin Weight and Nate Davis are co-Founders of a cryptocurrency startup here in Salt Lake City, Utah called Coinbook. They have been involved with bitcoin and other digital currencies since 2013. Over the years they have been active in the crypto world, mining bitcoin and other coins, working with developers, and even creating high frequency trading algorithms. Calvin, the CEO, has a Master's Degree in Finance from the University of Utah and has worked as a Financial Analyst for many years prior to this venture. Nate, the CTO, has been a Vice President of Information Systems and is a very talented coder and networking engineer. In the early days of altcoins he worked on various core wallet software, and can now build wallets from scratch. Together, with a team of powerful lawyers and accountants, they are taking on the biggest players in the space by starting a bitcoin exchange in the United States that will trade against the US Dollar.
