    Poetiq Justice

    Poetiq Justice

The Brothers of Nu Omicron have honored the legacy of esteemed poet and Frater Langston Hughes throughout the chapter's history.  However, in the midst of COVID-19, systemic inequity and gross violence against Black Americans, the brothers have reformatted their program into a virtual protest and healing session. With over 12 talented spoken word artists from across the United States, Poetiq Justice is the lyrical manifestation of revolution.  Tune in to hear the power and diversity of change.  A $500 Donation was made on behalf of our viewers to the Black Lives Matter Movement

Brother You're On My Mind: Who Are You Talking To?

Brother You're On My Mind: Who Are You Talking To?

On this call, the brothers of Nu Omicron were accompanied by two New York City Mental Health Consultants, Juliann King, MHC-LP and Steve Alexander, LMHC for a discussion titled, “Who Are You Talking To?”. When Nu Omicron Bro. Orobusa Uwangue charged his chapter to gather together and discuss how stressful quarantine can be on the already difficult life of Black Americans this program was birthed. Bro. Adolphus Clark and Bro. Joel Scott collaborated with Bro. Uwangue to develop the first virtual call of its kind by researching the materials provided by the Omega Psi Phi and National Institute of Health initiative “Brother You’re On My Mind”.
