    The Power of Play

    The Power of Play

Play is available to us as a powerful tool to bring more play into intimacy. When we are having “problems” in the bedroom, play is a wonderful way to break us out of the frustration. It’s also a wonderful tool to help us be more open to our partners and the pleasure available to us.

Play is a tool that sets a foundation of safety and allows us to move through zones of discomfort with the greatest level of ease. It gets you out of your head, without being dismissive. Intimacy can be birthed from fun, play and laughter.

How to amp up the play:

    -Don’t censor your weird

-Be willing to laugh at yourself

-Remove the expectation of what it’s supposed to look like

-Open yourself to the possibility that laughter can live in intimate spaces

-Allow the joy to grow and spread

Remember, laughter is the one one thing worth faking in the bedroom!

Wishing you orgasmic joy, fun and all the playfulness you can muster. We’ll see you next season!

    Radical Honesty

    Radical Honesty

Radical honesty is saying things just as they are. It is not shaping or filtering your language in a way that you think the other person is willing/able to receive it.

What is required for to be in place for radical honesty to be the next step on your journey of intimacy:

    -Is communication a value?

-Are you able to hold safe space for each other without immediately being triggered and shutting down? Are you clear on how to set the stage for this?

-Are you willing to surrender to vulnerability and get emotionally naked and bare?

-Is this level of honesty consensual?

We resist sharing ourselves with others to the extent that we are making our past/fears/perspectives mean something about us that it doesn’t. Radical honesty with a partner begins with radical honesty within ourselves. We can only be as intimate with someone else as we are willing to be with ourselves. You won’t really know if you’re ready for radical honesty until you set the stage and give it a try. And willing to fail and willing to try again.

Wishing you happy, radical and deeply intimate orgasms that are birthed from radical honesty.

When Your Brain is an Asshole

When Your Brain is an Asshole

Does the “Upper Limit” in pleasure really exist? Or are we creating a glass ceiling to prevent too much pleasure, joy, connection, in our lives? And if so, how can you get out of your head and back into the flow of pleasure? Join Lisa and Alise as they dive into making your brain an ally to create a more fluid, joyful life.

The Upper Limit problem, and all that goes along with it, represents way too much thinking and not enough feeling.Pleasure doesn’t exist in our head…it’s in our body in the physical sensations and emotional response.  When we are in our heads about it, we disconnect from the real embodiment of pleasure.

    Some solutions to explore:

-Move the body. Be connected to the body. An intentional movement practice can help enhance embodiment of pleasure when the brain attempts to intervene.

-Energy follows intention, so moving our thoughts / attention to what feels good in our body can help focus attention on the pleasure rather than on the potentially complicating thoughts.

-Reframing unhelpful thoughts, even in throes of intimacy, can help the brain be an ally rather than adversary.

-Presence matters.  Thoughts are feedback. What do you need most right now to be supported?

-Every act is either an act of love or a call for love. Looking at intimacy through that lens can help heal and lead to greater intimacy, or show where change may be needed.

-Accountability for our thoughts is critical.  If we are taking accountability for 80% of our stuff and spending 20% in victim mode, that 20% is where the limitations and toxic/wounded thoughts and disconnection grow.

Ultimately, rather than claim the brain is an asshole and push it away and ignore it, can we love the brain anyway and allow ourselves to upgrade the programming – alchemize it through love – so we have more space and openness to receive.

    What Makes for Good Sex?

    What Makes for Good Sex?

    Highlights from this exploration include:

-Do I feel safe? Safe to be fully seen and fully expressive?
-Is there communication during the act? Can I request that I be touched in a certain way?
-Is there room to explore? An opportunity to push the edges and see what else is available?
-Are we enhancing intimacy or detracting from intimacy?
-What limiting beliefs may be getting in your way? Are you shaming yourself for wanting good sex?
-Is getting stuck in your head cockblocking your sexual potential?
-How does approaching sex from a heart-centered space impact your receptivity of pleasure?
-Are you allowing yourself to experience intimacy through the eyes of your partner?
-Is permission to take baby steps present?
-Are you making your current situation mean something about your, your partner or your relationship that may not really be true?

Ultimately, Lisa and Alise hit on the notion that a heart-centered and communicative approach, surrendering expectation of a specific outcome, and a willingness to explore help make up the recipe for good sex.

Wishing you better and better sex.

    Let's Get Vocal

    Let's Get Vocal

In this episode, co-hosts Alise and Lisa explore the importance of sensual communication – not *just* sexy talk, but a willingness to have real, meaningful conversations about all things pleasure.

What bedroom topics have you explored with your partner?

Lisa and Alise are here to remind you:

Your partner is not a mind reader. Keep the crystal ball expectations out of the bedroom and let open, honest communication lubricate the fun!
Our brains like to fill in the blanks.  If we fail to communicate, it leaves the brain open to make up all kinds of stuff.  These assumptions and stories can be pleasure and connection killers.
Intentional communication helps deepen connection that allows for more pleasurable intimacy.
Communication creates receptivity.  The sacral and throat chakras are a natural pair to work well together to help enhance enjoyment on all levels.
Sexy Talk vs Total Turn-Off Words: Different people have turn-ons and turn-offs in the word choice and story-telling departments during steamy times.  Do you know your preferences?  Have you communicated those preferences?  Do you know your partners preferences, too?
Whose Responsibility is Your Pleasure?  WHOA!  Lisa and Alise open a whole can of worms when they dive into the differences between codependency, independence, and inter-dependency when it comes to pleasure.
Co-Dependence:  My pleasure is your job.
Independence:  My pleasure is my job.
Inter-dependence: Taking ownership together that we are going to strive toward mutual pleasure and satisfaction together.

Let’s not make challenges in the bedroom “problems to solve.” Rather than being “problems to solve,” challenges in the bedroom can be seen as “mysteries to explore.” And that feels a hell of a lot more fun!
