    Assessing Tomorrow: Navigating the Future of Student Affairs Assessment

    The Student Affairs Assessment Leaders (SAAL), in collaboration with the ACPA Commission on Evaluation and Assessment (CAE), NASPA Assessment, Evaluation, and Research Knowledge Community (NASPA AER KC), and the Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS), will offer insights and predictions into the evolving landscape of student affairs assessment. Together, these student affairs organizations will share reflections on the evolution of the field and illuminate the skill sets and traits essential for flourishing in the future.

    Centering Voices: Facilitating Focus Groups or Listening Circles

    A training designed to share components of a facilitator role, provide strategies and comfort in facilitating a focus group or listening circle, and sharing tips on opening, exploring, and closing sessions. The goal is to nurture disclosure and center participants' experiences and voices. A review of navigating multiple personality types that may show up along with simulating components of a facilitator role will be discussed.

This podcast is an overview of the philosophy and motivation behind the Journal of Student Affairs Inquiry (JSAI). Specifically, steps that the Journal takes to welcome people into the conversation of scholarship are discussed, with special attention to the support role reviewers and editors play in the publication process. In essence, the Journal was founded upon the idea that the submission of scholarship is an activity of trust on the part of the authors, and the processes of review must honor and cultivate that trust.
