    001—Jas & JP

With community at the core of their purpose, @jpgotmusic and @jday.888 never fall short of always drawing it back to their roots. from inspiration to local community spots, these southside creatives come to share stories of their craft, inspiration and aspirations for the future.

NZ born Tongan, JP first started music around 2017. Unlike a lot of creative artists, he started quite late in terms of finding his passion for it. “I always loved it, always loved singing but I never really thought I was good enough because I was friends with some really talented people throughout high school. It was just like, Oh, I’m not as good as that person, that’s their thing.” In Untold’s first episode, JP shares how he overcame that mindset, how his community and peers inspire his craft and new music.

Born and raised in Kura, 298 into a big whānau who was used to struggle being the norm - Jas aka Jday has found herself passionate about giving back to those in need. Through her experience in events, small businesses @arusticpicnic & @op.cops, the arts and customer service, she’s combined all of the skills she’s learned and beautiful people she’s met along the way to create @southsiders.co - a collective that aspires to create more spaces like Unfold and more chances for creatives to explore their talents, legitimately. In this episode Jas shares how she deals with creative block and the inspiration she gets from the community of S.A.
