    Coaching & Self-Awareness

Coaching is a powerful way to gain more self-awareness. Too often coaching is seen as punitive, or only something you need if you're new, or if you are struggling as an educator. In so many other fields having a coach is simply a sign that you want to be better!...that you want feedback and you are looking for progress. Today we talk about how to gain more self-awareness and some of the things that get in the way. Join our conversation by letting us know your thoughts! We appreciate every comment, review and rating!

    Is it Me?

    Is it Me?

    Is it Me?
Have you ever asked yourself, "is it me?" when you're having a difficult time with a student or behavior management in the classroom? Self-awareness is critical to our ability to make the kinds of changes we're always talking about.
Today we talk about the very real struggle of managing your own shame response while managing a classroom. Does shame ever override your social skills as an adult? It takes an intentional effort to respond in a way other than what is natural. We talk about junk behavior, like eye-rolling, and how to pivot when necessary.
You'll be able to tell that we were recording virtually from our home offices during the winter weather. We'll be back in the studio with the GOOD SOUND next episode!

    Like or Value

We were iced in with you all last week and we’re coming to you from our home offices! Today Betsy joins the conversation and wants some clarification on what we mean by “like” your students. For some people, maybe “value” is a better word because “liking” every single student seems like an unattainable dream. Has our definition of “like” changed with the influence of social media? We get into it. Join us!

Informative and Fun!

This podcast makes you feel like you are sitting down talking to friends. I love the book recommendations, the specific ideas for teachers, and the realistic way these three ladies come together to talk about wellness and resiliency in both students and adults! I highly recommend you listen from the beginning!

Not just for educators

This podcast, in just the first three episodes, explores and enlightens the world through the eyes of children’s mental health development. Not only can I relate (4 or more ACE’s here!) but I feel better equipped as a parent and an adult who encounters children from varying backgrounds. I believe this podcast can also help adults become more empathetic one toward another as we begin to learn that most of us carry ACE scars. The ladies leading the podcast present the information with ease and relatability. I’m looking forward to being an avid listener!

Awesome!

Betsy and Nicole do a great job lifting teachers and bringing light to the idea that trauma shapes who we are as people and how that begins at such a young age. This podcast brings facts and helps find solutions all while supporting our educators in the trenches.
