72. Connecting at the Heart-Level, Fostering Better Relationships, Loving With Detachment and Healing Addictions with Nonviolent Communication and Wayland Myers, PhD Awakening Aphrodite

    • Health & Fitness

Everyone wants to have good relationships, not only with others but also with ourselves! My guest today is clinical psychologist Wayland Myers and he literally wrote a book on how to do it!

We get into so many important, yet sensitive topics concerning how we communicate with others and how we can do it better to ultimately result in more love, understanding and connection. And we also talk about how to effectively navigate life when someone you love is struggling with addiction. Wayland shares his method of “loving with detachment” and we talk about why it can be the best thing for both parties. I love this show – it’s so important and I know you’ll agree! Thank you for listening /watching and if you feel inclined to share than lovely! ☺

Wayland Myer’s extensive career extends from beginnings in mechanical engineering to the world of social studies and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the CA School of Professional Psychology in San Diego Oh, followed by work in management consulting for various types of business, two 11 year stints of private practice, founding a hospice patient care and volunteer program, serving as president of the board for a second hospice for a 10 year period and working as a roving psychologist at a large medical hospital for two years. He has vast experience in the method of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and worked closely with the practice’s founder, Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D. In addition, Wayland is author of a very popular book: Nonviolent Communication: The Basics As I Know and Use Them which I have and is fantastic!
