Find out who makes our football Final Four, and ultimately lands as the pick to win it all if these were the 2024 football teams deciding the bracket. Best CFB pod hands down
They take on the sport from every angle, great stuff.
Pod question:
With the 12 team playoff only going to last two years before going to 14, which teams will make it the next two years that never made it in the four team model? Which programs have their sweet spot at 12?
Football Theory Books
Hey guys- I am returning to school in the fall (getting an MSBA) and will hopefully be able to volunteer for the football team. I played through high school and watch college football religiously so I understand basic coverages, run fits, route combinations, but obviously know very little compared to the average college football analyst. Do you guys have any suggestions on football theory books/websites with advanced stats, or how to stand out and get a post grad volunteer position on a staff? Too bad I’m not smart enough to get into into Vandy or I’d ask for the Barton connection. Thanks for the help and the years of content!
Best Young QB Gamble
Mailbag Question: What are your thoughts on the different gambles OU and UT appear to be taking regarding handling of incumbent vet QB’s versus their young QB talent?
In ‘23 Dillon Gabriel ranked #4 in QBR, 9.5 YDS/A, but in ‘24 he seems to have been forced to transfer because OU is betting that the potential of Jackson Arnold over the next 2-3 seasons is even higher.
In ‘23 Quinn Ewers ranked #15 in QBR, 8.8 YDS/A, and he’s sticking around for another year. If Ewers starts this year, it’s a safe bet that UT will have a #15 or better QB, but Arch Manning’s ceiling seems higher and they’re at risk of having only one year of Arch as a starter.
Which strategy does the Cover 3 team think is smarter?
