Mailbag Question
What are y’all’s thoughts on removing bowl games entirely from the playoff format? As a non-expansionist, I think that having home field advantage throughout the playoffs till the national championship game will be the only way to make the regular season have less of a safety net for the elite teams. I also believe moving the bowl games to Labor Day weekend would be great for the growth of the sport. Appreciate y’all for making my 9-5 job fly by!
Love the pod - USC 2023 preview
Gentlemen, love the show. It’s a constant staple in my weekly podcast schedule even when I can’t always make it to the live recordings. My question for the mailbag has to do with my beloved USC Trojans.
I’ve been a USC fan for the better part of two decades now. For the first time ever, I got to see them in person last season… at the 2023 Cotton Bowl. The delirious highs of Caleb Williams eviscerating mere mortal men were equally matched with the embarrassing lows of our defense looking like a junior varsity scout team against Tulane’s offense.
The experience was great, but I’ll admit the game left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth looking toward the future. I realize you could probably pencil in Caleb and a bag of chips for 9-10 wins, but we are USC. We don’t settle for 9 win seasons.
My question for the podcast is can I believe in this team this season? I’d love to see another natty in SoCal, and with some big-time transfers in Anthony Lucas, Jack Sullivan, Mason Cobb and Christian Roland-Wallace, will this defense be good enough to help the offense get in the playoff and challenge some of the giants? Give me a reason to believe. Thanks guys.

Hey guys love the pod , I’m an avid listener and btw I’m going to Barcelona in a couple weeks to celebrate the big 40 anyways my question is with divisions going away in the big ten and with Michigan and Ohio state dominating the conference the probability of them playing more than once a year is very likely do you think this will take away the hype of thee game ? #goblue
