E 156 Takeaways from 180M Youtube Streams Tyler is Fairlane

Tyler (Fairlane) talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast.

Fairlane discusses partnerships in the music industry, tips from 180 million streams for doctors to utilize for their local audience, and behind the scenes of the DJ, EDM, Trap music genres.

How did these 100,000 people in attendance electronic dance music festivals (EDM) come about and is it a goal to headline one of them?

What are the unique challenges of bridging from an online music guy to live venue entertainer? Why do someone people have millions of streams but can’t sell out a 500 person venue?

REMEMBER: every like and stream is an actual person. How do we leverage those likes and fans?

    Partnering:

Sometimes you have to do free stuff, so the right partner, agency, other doctor or crossfit gym in town takes notice of you. Then you can do joint ventures or joint collaborations and leverage each others audiences. This could be youtube video series on certain conditions or what have you.

Much like all aspects of life and business, who you know, meet and connect with (inner circles) can play a major role in building these partnerships and ultimately your big break.

    Favors Come Around Full Circle

What is your Unique Viewpoint, Angle, Unique Selling Point (USP) so that others want to work with you?

Another option he has done, is being a part of a bigger group (trap nation) allows for reciprocal favors. You put my song on your channel and I will put one of your core artists on tour with me for a few shows. Both individuals are happy because of the different types of exposure they are looking for. One person wants more youtube clicks and the other wants more live show experience.

Sony, Interscope, Capital Records all license their music exclusively to Trap Nation. This is how you can find so many artists to listen to for free without being taken down for copyright infringement. Side note: just because it’s licensed doesn’t mean the Nation gets to solely monetize, they still have to work a deal out with the record companies.

Because of the fact that most trends or artists can fizzle out over time, how and what do you do to plan for longevity and diversification

Importance of branding and maybe a small gimmicky piece. Could be a special font you use, icon, visualizer for video intros, a sound or a piece of clothing.

Fun question: why do dj’s always fiddle with the buttons?

Is syndication (sync) on commercials or TV shows as good of a deal as it appears to be?

You can hear a 30 second clip of his new single Replay featuring Syence and Kwesi at the end of the episode.

And to hear many of his original songs as well as two other artists, watch the Valentine Mix 2020.

Artists and People mentioned in the show:the District for bridging record labels to license songs on youtubeAndre Benz creator and curator of Trap Nation, Chill Nation etcGriffenIlleniumWilliam BlackLowly Record LabelMonsterCat Record LabelProximity Record LabelRezTroveNeovaiiZachery Moxley video producer

Tyler goes by the stage name Fairlane. He is a Canadian musician that helps product multiple music podcasts (Trap Nation and Chill Nation) as well as his own singles. His own songs have 12 M, 13 M, 8 M views and more from songs like wildfire, uncover you, first time, butterflies, replay and his imagine dragons remix has 135 M views.

Dr. Bethany Buryta, DC talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast.

Mobile - drive to your house- chiropractic can be a profitable practice style and allows for flexibility for parents. We also discuss software, social media influencer ideas, cash practice tips.

With over 10 years experience, 3 state licenses (currently Rochester, NY), and a desire to stay active in her kids lives (part time stay at home mom - part time chiropractor), Dr. Bethany Buryta dives into how she landed on mobile chiropractic in New York.

Tips for New Grads looking for an Associate Doctor Position

Mobile Chiropractic, don’t forget to log your miles to and from each house.

A perk of visiting their house is that you can see exactly their desk ergonomics setup, offer tailored pillow advice and other nuances we can only guess at while in office.

As a women, how does she stay safe going into ‘strangers’ homes. (3 options)

Not everyone has a clean house, how do you handle those situations?

    Influencer Opportunities and Amazon

Instagram is a source for her new patients, as well as getting DM’s for influencer opportunities. Discover a few tips to help your local reach and authority.

Dr. Buryta was always told she takes too much time with each patients: now that’s actually a selling point for mobile at home services. She has more time to explain and show exercises, a thorough exam, nutrition advice, ergonomics, ADL’s and more.

When a common treatment plan for the first two weeks is 3 visits to the office, how can most mobile chiropractic practices only recommend once or twice per week?

    Software for Payment and Records

Why does she use ChiroHealth for her discount rates even though she is not in-network with insurances?

She still accepts EHR forms of payment and JaneApp makes it easy to give patients a ‘superbill’ as well as tons of online forms, scheduling and makes telehealth a breeze.

Reasons you should consider having an amazon associate/affiliate store to have patients buy direct through your links.

Also, an online supplement distribution website has been really helpful for her to recommend to patients without having to carry products.

Jen Faber’s episode, Aaron LeBauer and Jarod Carter’s episodes on cash practice - mobile services could be an excellent follow up to this interview.

M 53 Investing With Profit First

M 53 Investing With Profit First

M 53 Investing With Profit First

Hiring your next associate or purchasing a piece of equipment is a big financial decision. Listen to a formula that could help you decide if you should do it and be profit first.

Today's episode, I was watching some futur videos again with Chris doe. And he was discussing, you know, how much you should bid him for design and project. And of course, they do logos and website design and brochures and all this and he charges us a premium price.

And he was talking about, if you were going to hire someone else to do it for you, with your experience level, what would that cost?

How Much Should You Pay an Associate Doctor?

How many days would it take to do this project that this person wants? You got a number. Now increase it because it might take longer. Then you got to add a sales rep percentage in there, a manager that oversight everything.

And you also have to add profit into that. And then you have this much bigger number than you probably would have initially said, you know, you maybe you would have recorded this person 5000 this business, but now the price is almost like 16,000. It depends on the business you're talking about.

They might say, Yeah, that's a great price. Obviously, a small mom and pop might not think that's a good price, but a medium sized company could say, yeah, that's a fair price. I like your work, etc.

So how do you translate this into a medical practice? pT Cairo, etc. So I was thinking, an associate or a piece of equipment. So if you add all of these things together, you know, what does this equipment associate need to bring in per hour, so that all the numbers work financially, and it's a good decision.

Pricing Formula to Pay Salary and Bonus

So here's kind of what I came up with an associate 5500 a month. Gonna add some tags in there, let's say 1200. These are just simple numbers. Okay? That's 6700 a month.

Let's assume you work 36 hours a week, 4.3 weeks, that's 154.8 hours per month. So let's go with that number, say 150 4.8. So just to cover that it's 43 per hour.

Now, this person probably needs an extra marketing, let's say 10% of their salary would be an increase in your marketing budget. That's 670.

You're gonna have extra staff. Let's say it's 1200. Maybe it's not staff. Maybe it's partially staff. Maybe it's more paper, maybe it's more hand sanitizer, you know, disposable goods. Let's just put a number in there. Okay. Then you got a subtotal.

    That's 8570 you want a profit built in. That's a 30%. That's 2571.

So the total was 1141. You divide that by the 150 4.8 hours per month, and it's pretty much $72 per hour.

So now you have to find out, can you increase your business? Let's say you keep working the same as you are, and you're just busting through the seams. So you need to hire somebody else.

How many people does that person need to see to make an extra $72 an hour for the clinic, because even at 72, that's a 30% profit, right?

Now, obviously, if you're trying to step back and not do as much work, that's a different factor, you have to play with these formulas a little bit better, but even a piece of equipment.

Formula for If You Should Get a New Piece of Equipment

So you want to get a new cool laser was that laser costs? Do you have to have an extra staff person doing it? What does that cost? How much profit Are you wanting to get as a percentage, and then you can find out Okay,

Pitfalls of being Live on a News Station.

Inspirations to find topics to make videos about. Best way to continue to do videos beyond one week after this podcast is to find what you are most interested in, and explore that area.

What does Embrace The Suck mean and how can you apply it?

A live news spot has spoken and unspoken rules and criteria that need to be met, especially if you want to be a repeat guest. What are those?

Timely news segments that relate to health and what is going on in the community are some of the best ways to get asked on the local news.

What happens when another person in your profession ruins the opportunity for others to be on the news because of how bad they performed?

You will not be able to give the news station questions you want to be asked, that is reserved for a paid interview.

You need to stay in your lane of expertise but not just in what you think but also in what the News Anchor thinks it is.

Find a Timely News Segment - Combine it With What You Are Good At, and now you have a better case to go on air.

During this Telehealth pivot for many doctor offices, he found that most ‘office desks’ are now the kitchen table, bar or couch.

Why did Dr. Alex visit 14 cities in China in a two week span... two years in a row?

Years of personal headaches multiple times a week from a concussion and only a chiropractor helped, hear the longer version of why he choose this field instead of mainstream medicine and that piggybacked into him wanting to be the TV- News based chiropractor.

This isn’t a heavy focused coronavirus episode, but we do discuss switching to scrubs for the time being and how that is important.

E 152 Paycheck Protection Program and other CARES Loans Amanda Kendall

E 152 Paycheck Protection Program and other CARES Loans Amanda Kendall

Amanda Kendall talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast.

CARES Act, paycheck protection program and other loans that help with employee payments and business expenses. Learn what you need to do to get a forgiven loan, the EIDL and ways to pivot. Amanda Kendall clears the confusion.

    Paycheck Protection Program PPP

    Can the owner get "unemployment"?

Do the employees get unemployment while the doors are closed on lock-down?

Are these Paycheck Protection Program loans that a biz can get or are they forgivable? How do we know the difference?

How to apply for these programs? Who doesn't qualify?

What are the typical rates of interest and pay off lengths?

What supporting documents do you need to have for the applications?

A percent of the loan has to be for employees (75%) and the rest can go for expenses like rent and commercial mortgage interest and other expenses . However if it is less than that 75% spent on payroll, then the difference becomes a loan. Right now the amount of money you can receive is the employee salaries times 2.5.

Is it better to ride it out for 8 weeks and see what happens or should we apply because the limited funds may run out?

Also, you can’t fire people or reduce salaries. Make sure you have great records and book keeping. Also, tax filed plays a part in the application process. If they quit, what can you do so you don’t get this forgiveness turned into a two year loan with a 1% interest rate after all.

A company that has 480 employees is going to get a huge sum of money from a bank. Amanda discusses how the banks make money on this program and once again, small businesses like solo or 3 doctor practices are going to get less attention because the banks cut will be so much less.

Be Quick but Be Accurate With All the CARES Program Paperwork

Should we apply at huge banks, local banks, credit unions or any other options?

The PPP is really set up to keep people off unemployment benefits for at least 8 weeks.

    Any rent deferments?

    Economic Impact Disaster Loan (CARES)

What is the EIDL, who qualifies and what is it for? 2 months of operating expenses with a max of $15,000.

Plus Another Type of Loan (CARES)

Pretty much you can potentially get $1000 per employee with a max of $10,000. This is a non-payback grant.

*If you google sba coronavirus loan you will find the link.

Kind of what people would be asking if they owned a biz but couldn't see patients...so they can't pay the bills.

Inspiration and creativity from restaurants on how to pivot in business

What will the Covid-19 version of yourself look like in 90 days?

Did you learn new skills or just binge watch Tv?
