    Jennifer Meyer, M.A., is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and owner/CEO at Jennifer Meyer Counseling, LLC in Fort Collins, Colorado. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado with an emphasis in Clinical Counseling, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Colorado State University. Jennifer is experienced at working with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families.

    In addition to Jennifer’s direct experience with counseling clients, she has managed a counseling team, worked in corporate settings, served as a teaching assistant at CSU, and has served in leadership capacities at universities and on a preschool board. Jennifer has delivered anti-bullying presentations to middle school students in the summer Fashion FUNdamentals program at Colorado State University, and she enjoys counseling victims of abuse and bullying so that they can heal and rewrite their stories through an empowered, resilient lens.

    In addition to Jennifer’s role as a counselor, she is a parent and step-parent to three lively teenagers, and understands firsthand how challenging it can be to parent wholeheartedly and with a steady goal of instilling

    important values. She enjoys helping adult clients conquer parenting challenges and brings a fun but accountable approach to her work with adolescent clients. Jennifer also works with blended families, LGBTQ-identifying clients, and adults of all ages looking to improve their lives and overcome adversity, particularly those who have been in abusive relationships.

    Host Dawn Day has a BA in Psychology and has worked as a gifted/talented teacher, a counselor in a group home for emotionally disturbed boys, a tutor in a psychiatric hospital, and a video producer who has interviewed over 600 people in her career. She is a mother of three daughters, all of whom have suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts and attempts. She is the author of Helpless Night, Hopeful Dawn: Staying Positive and Proactive When Your Child is Suicidal.     Protecting Kids from Cyberbullying and Predators

    What are some of the dangers of the current online world our teens are interacting with, and what are some ways we can help them navigate it safely? This episode features Chris Padgett, a former law enforcement officer who gave presentations about cyberbullying statewide in Florida, talking about his experience with cyberbullying and predatory behavior on the web. You will learn: 1. How to safely introduce your child to the online world. 2. The link between cyberbullying and higher rates of depression and suicidality. 3. Setting parameters for safe online interaction. 4. The prevalence of sexual solicitation of minors online. At just 37 years old, he took an early retirement, finishing his career on the sheriff’s command staff. While in investigations, Chris worked property crimes, sex crimes and robbery/homicide. During his time in sex crimes he was a member of the Florida Attorney General’s task force for cyber safety/bullying. He was also on a sexual assault/domestic violence task force, SWAT and worked closely with Customs and Border Patrol, the US Marshals Service and Homeland Security. Chris has given several thousand speeches - the majority to be on cyber safety. Chris’ knowledge on these matters has allowed him to be on various television programs, news broadcasts and special programmings. With first-hand experience of these matters, Chris has a seen the dangers of cyber bullying and he has a strong passion to help our local youth. To be included in his endeavors is church pastoring and character coaching. The foundation was  started to bring much-needed resources to families that normally would not have the opportunities to heal and  learn through horses. This work allows Kim to bring her favorite beings (horses) together with her calling and  passion which is kids.  Kim has worked in many professional worlds, banking, retail, childcare, veterinary assistant, Property inspection  and preservation and held many nonprofit volunteer positions. Her life experiences have helped her become an  expert in the field of youth development. She finds the work challenging yet very rewarding. Her compassionate  and heart-centered life is spent dedicated to the well-being of at-risk children and young adults in her  community. The work has just begun. “We are so excited to be on the path to changing many lives for the better  that will not only impact families but whole communities.” Kim grew up in a military family, frequently moving from place to place until she was 12 years old with an older  sister, and a special needs little brother who has since passed. Settling in Colorado was a blessing as this was  where she eventually met her husband, Chris, of 33 years. Together they have raised 3 beautiful, smart and  talented daughters. Kim in her "spare" time is expanding and managing their 40-acre property (The Happiness  Ranch) which is now the home to HTH.In 2016 Kim was honored to be chosen as a Colorado Women of Influence Women of Vision through in northern  Colorado.
