Now, it’s frequently touted by tech titans and “thought leaders.” Matt and Rob dive into the implications of stoicism in the modern age.

    Ep 10 // Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca, a hallucinogenic tea from the Amazon has become a trendy, life-altering brew consumed by hipsters, Silicon Valley, and the yoga crowd. And how did drinking a South American psychoactive brew become just as popular as microdosing, CBD, and partying in Tulum? Matt and Rob go deep to discuss the benefits and misconceptions surrounding this traditional spiritual medicine. Buckle up.

In this episode, Matt and Rob examine the concept of conspiracy theory addiction. Along the way, they get into the underlying conditions that may cause conspiracy theories to take root and grab hold of people's attention and, in extreme cases, impact their mental health.

    Ep 8 // Michael Pollan & Headspace

    Ep 8 // Michael Pollan & Headspace

Matt and Rob go for a deep dive into the work of author Michael Pollan and the impact he’s had on how America eats and views psychedelics. They focus on two of Pollan’s seminal books: ‘The Omnivore’s Dilemma’ and ‘How to Change Your Mind.’

They then debate each other on the efficacy and use of the Headspace guided meditation app. Is it a good way to onboard folks into meditation or does it represent everything that can go wrong when capitalism meets mindfulness?

Biased beliefs

Apple suggested me this podcast and I ended up listening to 3 episodes before making up my mind. I was trying to understand QAnon and the “dangerous” conspiracy theories behind it as I don’t know anyone in person who is a QAnon follower (and it’s hard to find information due to big media censorship) even though I do know a lot of “wokes” (as their training start at school... and I myself have experienced academia brainwashing in this country - it’s unbearable!). Turns out these episodes were full of arrogant assumptions based on these guys beliefs and little facts (just like the science they stand up for). Even though one of them is a “follow the money” investigator and does understand big pharma is trying to poison us, he doesn’t see any problem with Bill Gates, Fauci and the emergency use vaccine... as if those were for free and G, who has zero expertise in the heath field, should be trusted... just like FB algorithms (made me laugh). Moreover, the way they talk about the MSM is almost as if we should worship this “cult” (even after CNN was caught admitting they manipulated numbers as “fear sells”). The hosts also hope conspiracy theories would fall under the new administration stating Jan 2021, but turns out now the government legitimates a big conspiracy theory: UFOs are real... what will be the next one? So it’s a “no, thanks” for this biased podcast.

Much better than HowStuffWorks podcast

This is interesting and engaging and funny all at the same time.

I'm a big fan of HowStuffWorks, but I must say this podcast is better in some ways... it's just fun to listen to AND I learn enough new information to not make it overhwleming (like howstuffworks sometimes is for me).

I also like the definitive "is it a go or a no go" at the end for every topic they attack. Most podcasts out there are in the middle ground most of the time.
