Episode 40: Learning to exercise after an eating disorder with Rochelle Basil Life with ED, the podcast

    • Health & Fitness

For so many people with an eating disorder, exercise becomes a behavior and integral part of the disorder. It can be incredibly challenging to return to running, biking, swimming or whatever sport it was while in recovery because the mere action of exercising can be a trigger for all those old ED behavirors.

Today on the podcast Rochelle Basil, a running coach for Lift Run Perform and Peak Movement Collaboration, joins host Julia Werth to discuss how she did it. Rochelle goes into the nitty gritty of how she walked off a division 1 track team in college and proceeded not to run again for five years before braving the old trigger and learning to find the love for movement alone.
