make believe
Kids scream, “Monster in the hallway!”, and hide behind the couch. They stack up cushions for protection, and plan their defense. They know it’s not true — there’s not really a monster in the hallway — but it’s exciting to feel the adrenaline of panic, then make a shelter and feel safe.

No Advice for Younger-self
I would not give my younger-self any advice, because I’ve needed uncertainty, fear, doubt, angst to become who I am today. Without that, I wouldn’t have studied, worked, persisted, reached out to other humans, connected, and synergized as much as I have to get to my current self. I used to think I’d relieve my younger-self, but now I realize it all served a purpose.

Derek challenges me a lot… and I love it!
The host is so important to a podcast. Derek has give me so many nuggets to chew on. I do not even necessary agree with him sometimes, but he just always has me wondering. I appreciate hearing his perspectives. Thumbs up!
