Ep 14 - Finding your dharma with Aloise Surfleet-Middleton

Ep 14 - Finding your dharma with Aloise Surfleet-Middleton

In this episode, I am speaking with Aloise Surfleet-Middleton, founder of the Dharma Life Academy and of the Dharma Life podcast.  Aloise has spent the last 15 years of her life developing herself through personal and spiritual development. She is also a Reiki Master, an Advanced Soul Realignment Practitioner reading the Akashic records, a student of Chris Attwood’s (Passion Test) where she learned about the principles of Dharma and she is an AC Accredited Coach (The Association of Coaching) and Transformational Teacher. She has spent the last few years of her life interviewing some of the top thought leaders on the planet, uncovering how they tuned in and found what they are here to do. After analysing these interviews, she has collated all the advice and distilled it into simple steps that you can take, and exercises that you can do to get you on the right path in life today. She de-mystifies the concept of Dharma and helps you answer that all-important question – ‘Why am I here…?’

We chatted about a lot of things including:

    - Her journey and how it led her to build the business she has today helping others find their purpose

    - The concept of dharma and its Vedic origins

    - How she uses the Akashic records to clear up blocks from past lives

    - The concept and importance of doing inner child and shadow work to become more balanced - Her Dharma Life Academy program and her newest Virtues program.

Ep 12 - Weight loss, self-acceptance and the psychology of dieting with Ana Vucetic

In this episode, I speak with my dear friend, Ana Vucetic. She is a trained psychologist and a health and wellness coach, as well as the founder of Balanced by Ana, where she helps clients achieve their health objectives and uncover their motives and challenges relating to them.

We discuss her own journey and cover a lot of interesting topics around weight loss, including:
    - How we get trapped into associating our weight with our own self-worth
    - Why weight is often not the real issue and how to identify the problems that lie beneath
    - Why self-acceptance is probably the biggest issue most people have when it comes to weight loss
    - Shifting from worrying about "vanity weight" to worrying about our health and true wellness
    - Managing weight loss with children with a healthy mindset
    - Some people say they want to lose weight but really they don't - and they don't have to!

Ep. 9 - Meditation, why we should do it and why we don't? Interview with Meditation instructor, Cathrina Read

Ep. 9 - Meditation, why we should do it and why we don't? Interview with Meditation instructor, Cathrina Read

Cathrina Read, better known as Cat, is a life long learner when it comes to the spiritual world. After spending many years in her teens and twenties traveling around India, Nepal, Tibet and China circling the Himalayas, visiting Buddhist temples and monasteries, she returned home in Australia to find that the Western world of work didn't suit her spiritual goals. Yet somehow, she struggled to integrate the Buddhist forms of meditation she had learned into her daily Western life. That was until she discovered the science behind meditation - a pathway into a spiritual practice that wasn't steeped in religion, rituals, and cultures which she didn't feel she belonged to.

Today, Cat teaches yoga and meditation in her hometown of Perth, Western Australia. In this episode, Cat and I chat about the mental, emotional and physical benefits of meditation. She also explains why despite all the research and science that demonstrate its benefits, so many people still find meditation a difficult practice to adopt and why it is often the last thing people try when they tackle a health or emotional issue. Finally, Cat shares some insight and useful tips for novices who want to give meditation a try.
