Dr. Priyanka Wali is a licensed and practicing physician who specializes in Internal Medicine and is also a stand up comedian. Sean Hayes is NOT a Doctor and he’s never played one on tv, but he sure is interested in medical stories, medical advice and whatever might be ailing him at any given hour. Each episode, Sean and Dr. Wali bring on a guest with an incredible medical story and discuss the outcome. They’ll also play games, quiz each other on medical history, and learn a thing or two... all in an effort to marry comedy and medicine. We think it’s safe to say that Sean’s not America’s first hypochondriac, but he IS America’s first HypochondriACTOR!

Y’all talk way too fast!!
When????
When is this podcast coming back? So happy Sean was great on Broadway. So sad that Sean does those humiliating Verizon commercials. Please come back to this great podcast.
Disappointed
I was into it, excited to hear people constructively talk about health issues, with some humor because hard stuff is a bit easier with humor.
However the doctor was so excited to talk about diabetes and their knowledge was incorrect and detrimental and pushed a narrative that diabetes (especially type 2) is something a lack of good nutrition creates and blames the patient for their illness. They touched on insulin intolerance but never explained fully how it is the main issue in type 2 and your body doesn’t recognize what to do with glucose so it stores it as fat instead. Plus not all those with type 2 are larger people and thousands are made to be ashamed of themselves which leads to more people not wanting to help themselves and see what they can do to change.
There is more about autoantibodies, the immune system attacking itself and more, but apparently a general overview doesn’t really cover the whole thing and maybe it was a time crunch, but if you are excited about talking about a health issue then you really need to be very specific and careful about how you speak on it.
I’m dipping out of the rest of the episodes because as someone with type 1.5 diabetes the messaging is harmful and the topics aren’t being explored thoroughly…and therefore causes more harm than good.
