The Mysterious Disappearing Murderer - Jackson, New Hampshire
This week, in Jackson, New Hampshire, when the couple that runs the local Inn are horribly bound, stabbed, and burned, detectives immediately look at their daughter's MUCH older boyfriend, who no one seems to trust. When police finally catch up to him, it's in a most horrific way. But did this killer use other bodies to fake his own suicide? It's a wild mystery, leaving police forces fighting with each other over the truth!!
Along the way, we find out that "local" comedians are rarely worth the trouble, that you generally don't want your daughter to date people who are older than you, and that some people are just born evil!!

The Serial Killing Nerd - Bridgeport, Pennsylvania
This week, in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania, when a young woman is brutally carved up in her own home, police insist there must be a link to her playing Dungeons & Dragons, which must have led to the occult. The case goes cold, until another member of the same D&D circle, and her family, is also murdered. The attention falls on one man, who was in love with both of the women & might be a serial killer. He has a wild story to tell!!
Along the way, we find out that "affordable" carnivals might not be the safest family fun option, that Dungeons & Dragons isn't a game where people ACTUALLY murder each other, and that you should never save your murder mementos to wear while you hand out candy on Halloween!!

Hermit Horrors - Denio, Nevada
This week, in Denio, Nevada, multiple bloody bodies are found in the desert, near the underground dwelling of a very odd hermit, who is later called "one of the most dangerous men ever". He has a history of withdrawing from society, eating from the dump, living in a hole, trying to stab cops, and also claiming he's a US Army General, who authority over the land! And that's just the start of this insane tale!! What happened to the treasure map?!?!
Along the way, we find out that you can pull uranium out of the ground with your hands, that if you cook it enough, you shouldn't follow treasure maps to fantasies of gold, and that if your crazy goes "into remission", you are judged sane, again!!

Too Many Knots Tied - Tallapoosa, Missouri
This week, in Tallapoosa, Missouri, a young woman, and her grandmother are viciously slaughtered, tied up, and seemingly posed. Suspicions immediately land on the young woman's mother's boyfriend, and during a search of his home, they find a duffel bag full of pre cut ropes, odd homemade porn, and a LOT of dildos. Even though there's a confession & DNA, this guy won't go down without a very large fight!!
Along the way, we find out that you can't have a Mardi Gras celebration without certain elements, that you don't need dozens of pre cut ropes to do roofing, and that homemade porn may be the weirdest thing to play in court!!

true crime hall of fame
i’m a rabid listener of True Crime Garage and struggled to find another show that measured up. i saw a mention of STM in the TCG reviews and figured i’d give it a shot. i am so glad i did. the stories are interesting and the hosts highlight cases i have never heard of. the comedic side of it is very refreshing, as a lot of true crime podcasts avoid any hint of humor to avoid backlash. as they say in their disclaimer, the hosts really do it tastefully. i have a lot of episodes to catch up on, can’t wait!
