Denial
This is the first conversation of five episodes discussing the five stages of discovering autism for the Christ-following parent. Larah talks with guest Lizzie Mears, a speech therapist and a friend that guided her during a hard season of denial. Though these stages and phases will look different for every family, it is our hope that the next series of episodes be ones to help identify, encourage and offer practical and gospel hope to take the next step forward on the autism journey.

So grateful to have found this!
This cross section of Jesus-following and parenting an autistic child feels so small, so I’m very thankful I found other like-minded people to listen to! I wish podcasters Larah and Collin were my neighbors! I’ve loved all the episodes. I’m not sure why I listened to episode number two last, but it was my favorite. I’ve tried having conversations with people about whether there could have been autism before the Fall or if there will be autism when God makes all thing new. No one really tracks with me when I try to discuss that, but Larah and Collin address that topic so thoughtfully and humbly!
♥️
I am new this world. I will be finding out the diagnosis of my little one in a few days. I have been a search for understanding, community, anything because I have no close where to even begin. Thank you soo much for creating a space! The episode diagnosis has helped me such. 🥹
Special needs ministry
I am a special-needs ministry, Director and I am loving your podcast. I have been working in special-needs ministry for over 14 years now. And I have always struggled in my heart wondering if the children that I’m working with are understanding the gospel and ways to teach it to them. I have made it my mission to create an environment in my church for children and families to feel accepted and loved at church because I was a child with special needs, and I never felt love and accepted when I went to church.
