Life and Breath: Reis Paluso The Well Mind Podcast

    • Health & Fitness

My guest in this episode is a surfer, father, husband, entrepreneur, and expert in the practice of breath work and cold exposure. Relatably, Reis Paluso found himself caught up in the ever accelerating process and goals of building a life through his work, family, friendships, and favorite pastimes but was simultaneously losing a sense of balance and connectedness in his own life. Then he hit an inflection point and, in my conversation with Reis, he details the steps of the journey he embarked upon to unlock his mind-body connection through breath work practices. He first studied the Wim Hof method, which often combines specialized breathing techniques and intentional cold therapy practices. He speaks about some of the transformational experiences this study and practice led to and ultimately why he started the breathwork platform, Our Breath Collective. This is a first of its kind platform that offers live, online daily breathwork sessions, and a host of workshops, trainings, and retreats. Reis and I explore the connections between our breath, our mental health, and our wellness. Traditionally, people often associate breath practices with calming or relaxation based goals, but Reis explains how breath practices can also be a pathway to increasing energy, focus, and vitality. Breathwork has been a catalyst for change and growth in Reis’s life and his passion for this subject shines through in our discussion..
