Returning to Nature with Natalie Kanbergs

Returning to Nature with Natalie Kanbergs

In this episode I am joined by Natalie Kanbergs. Natalie shares how she would spend her summer weekends in a cabin in the woods, communing with Mother Nature, and how she would go back to the city and put this version of herself back in the closet. It wasn't until the birth of her first son, Tilden that her family rediscovered the necessity of being in nature and how they decided to embark on a huge move from New York city to the Catskills mountains.
Through this relocation, she and her husband have grown a deep relationship with their land that they steward. She gushes about the truly magical water they have access to. As they have connected to the water of their land and potentiated it using ancient techniques, they have infused this water into all of their products. They welcome you to transform the often overlooked routine of cleansing oneself into a spellbound awakening, giving thanks for the water which flows over your hands and giving back to the earth that which it has given us.
We discuss mothering, community, and healing sister relationships, and I can't wait for you to listen.

My Journey with Control & Disordered Eating - Solo Episode

My Journey with Control & Disordered Eating - Solo Episode

In this solo episode of Matriarchal Medicine I am sharing my experience of disordered eating. Let this serve as a listener discretion advisory.
As I have been preparing for my FREE CLASS Staphysagria:Righteous Anger I found that a lot of anger that I have suppressed over the years was resurfacing - and most of it was around my eating disorders since I was a little girl. In this episode I share an intimate look at how I started restricting calories, and yo-yo dieted alongside the adult women in my life from a young age, to eventually having a breast reduction at the age of 12.
After my reduction my eating disorder really took off, with binging and purging, appetite suppressants and eventually stealing phentermine and running for hours on the elliptical. This is something that I realized through the course of this episode that I'm still navigating in my 30's and in the same breathe, I'm meeting my body with more love and gratitude than I ever have before.
I know so much of what I share could very well be your story, or your daughter's experience and that's why I'm sharing - because we all know we lived through it, but not a lot of us are willing to openly admit it and bring it into our consciousness.
If you enjoyed this episode I invite you to join my FREE CLASS Staphysagria: Righteous Anger and my 3-month container The Rooted Woman. During our time together we will dive deep into remembering our innate wisdom while exploring the following topics:

"BLESS JACOB" - Journey with Lyme and Love with Zascha Samuels

"BLESS JACOB" - Journey with Lyme and Love with Zascha Samuels

Listener Discretion Advisory: I am joined by Zascha Samuels (I pronounce her name wrong multiple times throughout this episode) but nonetheless, I am so excited for you to hear our conversation and her story. In this episode she shares her journey through her parent’s divorce, how she went from a high achieving student to skipping classes just so she could sleep in her car because of the debilitating fatigue she experienced. After years of being gaslit by multiple providers (and even herself at times) she was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease.
This will also serve as listener’s distraction advisory as Zascha’s story includes suicide ideation and attempts, being institutionalized. She also affectionately shares how she and her now husband met and he truly CARED for her during her time of being bedridden, carrying her to and from appointments and financially tending to their household needs. She shares her experience through a holistic lens - emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Here is the song I mentioned in this episode.

Learn Homeopathy in Less Than 15 Minutes - Arnica

Learn Homeopathy in Less Than 15 Minutes - Arnica

In this episode I give a QUICK explanation of what individualization looks like in homeopathy. I also formally introduce the first official remedy profile for this series - ARNICA.
I feel like Arnica is the preferable “gateway remedy”. Almost everyone who has an incline of holistic healing knowledge has heard of Arnica. From traditionally prepared remedies to gels and creams arnica is used most commonly and frequently and because of that, it’s typically the easiest remedy to purchase.
If I was to sum up the uses and range of Arnica it would be this - Arnica is for TRAUMA. Physical, emotional, mental, etc. The way my mentor taught me about Arnica was when in doubt and you don’t know where to start, start with Arnica. I mean who of us does not have trauma?! So naturally this is a wonderful remedy to have on hand, I typically have a 30c and a 200c in my kit at all times. We’ll get into different potencies in another episode, or if you want to hear all the information NOW, I go over all of this and so much more in my Homeopathy for the Autonomous Woman Course.
I'll continue to share remedy pictures in future episodes, and each episode will build off the last in this series.

The Art of Choosing "Me" with Jennifer Seaman

The Art of Choosing "Me" with Jennifer Seaman

Have you found yourself in a relationship, or a job where you are begging to be seen? Begging to be picked? Jennifer can relate. In this episode Jennifer and I discuss how her first big experience of "choosing me" was 15 years ago when she started her road to recovery from alcohol and drug use.
Since then, she has found herself again at a place in her life where she is boldly "choosing me" again with a new relationship dynamic and a new career choice. Jennifer reminds us that this is a daily act of self-love where we have to choose to nourish ourselves deeply first and foremost and we can not outsource our happiness or joy to anyone else.

Jennifer Seamen is a heart-centered human working in the financial planning space where she focuses on empowering her community on the freedom of self agency from climbing out of the debt spiral of shame and self doubt to helping with budget-friendly protection for life’s unexpected moments, Jennifer has your back. She’s also known for educating others on how little it takes to start investing in their ideal future. When asked why she does what she does, Jennifer answered, “Once I realized the power of self agency, I really felt excited that I could help others do the same. We all crave safety and knowing I can help my community find theirs is not only beyond gratifying, it’s paramount to making a true difference.”
When not empowering others on their path to financial freedom you will likely find her on the pickle ball court landing another dink, crafting with her daughters or enjoying live music with her besties.

Mini-Series on Informed Consent: RhoGAM, and why it even exists

Mini-Series on Informed Consent: RhoGAM, and why it even exists

In this solo episode I am starting a mini-series on Informed Consent. What it is, why it's important, and why it is so crucial for us as consumers to do our due diligence when it comes to all the decisions we make in life (especially our healthcare decisions).
I know this is a niche topic, being that approximately 15% of women in the United States and 17% in Europe are Rh-, and this is still a topic that many of us can appreciate as it is a small glimpse into how so often the ones who are selling us the solution made the problem in the first place.
If you are an Rh- mama like myself who did not give truly informed consent, I see you. I pray you give yourself grace as you listen (as I remind myself every time I talk on RhoGAM) and that I did the best I could with the information I had.
