No Guts No Glory: Real Talk about Bariatric Surgery

Picture sitting around the table with close friends in a cozy space, laughing and sharing your upcoming hopes, worries, and questions about your weight-loss surgery. No b******t, just real talk. The thing you crave if you’re going to start navigating this experience. That’s everything Allyson and Cortni sought when beginning to think about their bariatric surgeries, and something that was seemingly rare to find. Something that they hope to share with you. Two different surgeries (Sleeve gastrectomy and Biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch) two different states, two different “why’s”. Settle in and join the friends as they share the good, the bad, and everything in-between of weight-loss surgery. No guts, no glory. Definitely has helped me on my bariatric journey!

I am still in my journey to get released by my bariatric dietitian (my next appt, she will approve me to meet with the surgeon) but up until this point, I was fine until she said that. I became emotional & the fear began to set in. I decided to make an appointment with my bariatric psychologist and she recommended this podcast. I have completely dove in, listening while at work and I realized I am not alone. This podcast has helped so much with what I’ve been feeling, making me excited again. Although fear of surgery is still there, I know I am ready for this lifelong change. I’m so grateful for Allyson & Courtney and them sharing their journey & bringing others on to share their experience.
Thank you!

I started listening a month ago when I began considering WLS and binged all the episodes. Not only am I grateful for all the personal experiences shared by the hosts, but also the self-compassion and joy demonstrated by Cortni and Allison. I know the pacing of the show has slowed down (understandably- life circumstances) but I hope they continue forever! Thanks again for making this podcast- it’s truly a lifeline.
Perfect podcast

I just LOVE y’all and this show!! I found this podcast a few weeks after I started my Bari-journey when I wanted to learn as much as possible from real REAL people. I stopped here and binged until my bypass surgery. The love and support between Allyson & Cortni is so genuine and true - best personalities and talk about keeping it real!!! Listening to both of your journeys pre surgery I feel like I was really getting to know you and each hurdle you had to overcome. I’m now post bypass and on season 3 and just so proud of you both!!
