The last interview with Anna Victoria was better in that her guest saved the podcast. KB has few interesting questions, replies to answers either with an anecdote about herself or “wow”, “cool” or several other empty adjectives or exclamations. She took what was potentially a meaningful topic and injected her brand of “confidence” or insecurity dele sing upon how you see it with a superficial take on o my those things that are visible.. Botox fix, muscle mass, outward beauty. I would also add that many of her followers truly adore her, but I have learned that those who most care about me are the first to want to give me criticism so that I will succeed. I would argue that some, not all, of those who respond with superlatives are simply hastening the downfall of KB or her irrelevance.

Just wondering... since your OTV podcast is now about the details of your relationship and rarely about anything else, what do you think your future together might look like without alcohol, public attention and validation, and partying? I’m sure that there is more that you do, but when the fifteen minutes of fame goes away, will you and Jason be able to sustain a relationship that takes a turn to a more private and hopefully sober kind of love?

Before I add my own critique, which supports so many of the others, I will say that in Kaitlyn’s defense, any one is free to stop listening if the podcast no longer is enjoyable. I also feel that maybe we are expecting way too much from the podcast and Kaitlyn. I don’t think she has changed as much as revealed more of who she really is. If you are looking for an intelligent, thoughtful, reflective and educated podcast host, this is not the place to come. Kaitlyn has never pretended to be trained,
Intelligent, or educated in interviewing, and she clearly needs self-validation, which she finds in her community. Personally, while i do not find her podcast to be worthwhile in any substantive way, I listen to it after a long and interesting day’s work and it shortens a commute home. Sometimes it is just fun to listen to mindless chatter. And this way, I lower my expectations and even enjoy so many of Kaitlyn’s contradictions and hypocrisies. I don’t think she reads the negative comments and rationalizes them if she does “blame the writer”, so just either unsubscribe or listen when you don’t want to think... or listen in the bathroom, which she probably would find funny.. as for Jason, I will say I cannot imagine that this is the same person who fell in love with Becca and wonder which is the authentic Jason, as Becca is everything that Kaitlyn is not.

I am disappointed in the arc of Kaitlyn’s podcast. I’ve listened from the beginning when Shawn did actually support the pod, and when it did have some degree of substance combined with humor and entertaining banter. I also enjoyed the diversity of guests, and when the guests were informative and experts in their respective interests and fields, Kaitlyn was at her best in listening and trying to learn interviewing skills. Although occasionally that happens, I’ve found she uses her platform ( repeated over and over) to promote her brand (self), complain about criticism ( the best way to learn and grow), and expose an inflated sense of self cast by the host as self love. I don’t know..
I’ve been in love for almost 48 years, and although love deepens and morphs all of the time, when it is real and secure, one doesn’t have to expose and advertise it... it just is! I’m sad that this podcast that I liked a lot has become vacant, shallow, and even boring.

Last Straw

Ughhhh is she kidding with the story of how she said “whoever dates Jason is so lucky” ?!?!? I seriously want to rip my ears out after hearing it AGAIN. Thought I was safe after Brandi said something but I guess not.
