Successfully Treating ADHD (also Polyamory discussed)

Meet Anneke Elmhirst, a very interesting person who deals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I still think the diagnosis of ADHD is wrongly named since you don’t have to be Hyperactive. Also, I believe ADHD is just a different type of brain that has it’s advantages like hyperfocus and thinking out of the box. It is only a disorder from the viewpoint of the neurotypical. Anneke also thinks she has some Autistic symptoms. Find out how Anneke helps herself with her lack of focus and concentration. She also does virtual counseling for neurodivergent who are able to converse on the phone. Check out her website included in the description of this episode. The last half of the episode (about 21 minutes in) we go into her unusual practice of Polyamory which is the practice of, or the desire for, romantic relationships with more than one partner at the same time, with the informed consent of all partners involved. I know this is controversial and I don’t agree or disagree with this lifestyle. However, I thought it important to discuss and keep it real. If you want to bypass this section, please listen only to the first half for our discussion on ADHD. In any case this is an informative episode that I hope you enjoy. Come Join us for the second part of Real “the best of OTR – Achieving Mental Health for Real”. Part 2 picks up the remaining episodes of 2020 and the first part of 2021. This information packed episode brings you practical advice on how you can recover from any mental health conditions. I like to dedicate this Real series to my guest in 2020 Dr. Allyson Boodram MD (Pediatrician). She died with lung cancer in 2022 caused by the 9/11 tragedy 21 years later from working in the toxic environment as a nurse. I hope you can relate and get information and inspiration to start a real recovery program from the Real series. It also became apparent that I will need a fourth episode of Real to cover the excellent information in the podcast. So, part three will be released on our five year anniversary October 23rd. Part 4 will come out soon after that. Eating Disorders - What you need to know about diets

This episode we talk to Doctor Cristina Castagnini who fully recovered from an eating disorder and now gives personal and professional perspectives about struggles with food, weight, and body image. She has 25 years of clinical experience as a licensed psychologist and certified eating disorder specialist. This is a mental health issue that doesn’t get talked about enough. You hear about women and men, especially teens, who suffer in silence. Some do not get any treatment at all, until its too late. Not eating or binge eating are serous conditions. They could well lead to organ damage or death. Social media targets our children with messages that they are not good enough. Society also pressures people, especially teenagers, to fit into a certain body type. This could lead to the development of an eating disorder. We agree that most people who diet gain back the weight and they yoyo back and forth. However, I think in general, people should eat healthy . I believe, especially certain people, like over fifty-five and people with depression are much better off eating healthy food and maintaining a healthy body fat. We both agree that dieting is too popular in this country and this attitude may lead people to be too restrictive with food that may be considered unhealthy. Not getting enough food can be as damaging as being on a strict crash diet were we may not get the nutrients we need. I think yoyo dieting may be considered worse for you than if you didn’t diet at all. Again, we didn’t quite agree on dieting. By no means does this show want to tell people whether to diet. That, I think, comes down to a person-to-person basis. The show offers more input to make a good decision in your life. But we all agree that this is a huge problem, and I am glad to get another perspective. Please enjoy. Listener Notes: Don’t forget to check out part 1 of the Real series highlighting the best of 5 years at OTR. Coming soon is the Premium package of OTR with all the scripts of the programs starting with the Real series. Also, you can make a request for up to 5 of the older shows. Nothing will change if you stay at the basic price. I am just trying to find money to spread the knowledge contained in the Podcast. I would also like more feedback about the show from any of the listeners, so it can become “our “ Podcast not just mine. All money will be reinvested into ads or for better quality. No matter how big we get there will never be a commercial break on the show. Thanks everyone for listening. Real - Best of "OTR - Achieving Mental Health for Real" Part 1

Best of OTR-Achieving Mental Health for Real and also the 100th episode of the show. This is part one and covers the first half of 2020. The rest of the year will be in part two which premiers on the last week of September. This installment covers top rated show including Brett Steven’s episodes for the Book Crossover. Also clips from Gigi Langer with “50 ways to worry less now” Note: The whooshing sound you hear begins the next clip. Also included are clip from another favorite Garage Talk Talks and the popular episode on Apple “Angela” about a remarkable young women Angela Angela Cristadoro who is restricted to a wheelchair with moebius Syndrome yet periveers and has a quality of life. Its difficult to understand her because of her issue but well worth it. Bill Macphee talks about his struggle with which might be the cruelist afflication of all Schizophrenia. Yet through the help of medicine lead a Quality life now. And my favorite interview of all from “Dyslexia – Fighting Back” with my oldest son Brian who rose above the inflection to become head paster at a Christian church. He talk about his attitude and adjustments he took fighting back at Dyslexia. The beginning has one of the first interviews I had on the show with Mike Sheehan in ”Garage Talk Talks. This was all I could fit in part 1 in a little over an hour. Part two will have the rest of 2020 and 2021 and there will be shorter clips. I just wanted to highlight these first episodes, since many people might have missed them way back when and except for the sound are some of the best of OTR (over the rainbow). I have some great Guests for season 10 which will begin in January and will be our greatest season. The show will be leaning towards more ADHD, bi polar and ptsd as well as continuing coverage for all other mental health conditions. As you may know OTR will have its own patreon site so our community can come together. In Lieu of commercials, I am trying A Premium package for just 34 dollars a year or $2.99 a month, which will include transcripts of all the shows including the three parts of Real – OTR “best of” plus many other perks. As I said in the first clip of Garage talk talks, I was scared to come out with my full name. I am scared no more, and I encourage others, If safe, to come out and join the community. I would love any feedback at all. Everyone will have access whether you sign up for the Premium package or not. But in order to keep things going I am going to need some help. Even, anything, you can contribute to my GoFundMe site. I will be publishing all about the Premium package sometime in September. Our listeners keep growing and I am looking forward to the next five seasons. I will not stop until the world gets to join our mission. As long as I can, I will be learning and learning about what can help us all and lead us to a new better world. I am going to set up a Patreon Site to try to bring us together . I think it will help. There, i will offer a Premium package for OTR. Again, there will be no change to have the base package. The show is doing great, but it can be much bigger with your help. The Premium package will be $2.99 monthly or 34 dollars a year and will include the following: Transcripts to every episode going forward including the upcoming best of show called "Real" the last 5 years packed with recovery techniques from the first 100 episodesA quarterly Blog that I will be starting.Access to OTR community where you can ask for more information from every guest, where we can share stories and help each other.Funny outtakes and rantings from me that I take out of episodes, if you like that.A verified fan icon that you can embed anywhere.Suggestion box. Dreaming Big - Paradigm Shift to a Better Life (Applied to ADHD, Trauma, Anxiety)

Dominika Staniewicz is my guest today. She is an amazingly accomplished woman who gives back to society her gift of healing. Dominka originally received an MS in sociology and education and worked as a successful career coach in Europe. However, despite her professional success, she felt unfulfilled and out of place. When she lost her 16-month-old son and struggled with depression and low self-esteem, she became trapped in a negative mindset and believed that the world was against her due to her inability to cope with the trauma. She realized that it was not possible for everything and everyone around her to be wrong or bad. This realization marked the beginning of her transformation journey. She began learning about how the brain and emotion’s function, and eventually trained and qualified as an Elite Neuro Encoding specialist at the Neuroencoding Institute with Joseph McClendon III. She also graduated from Amen University with a rare certification as a Brain coach and Trainer. She became one of the few certified brain coaches in the world with a scientific and holistic coaching approach. Come join us as we talk about her approach to trauma. ADHD and other mental issues Fan Notes: I am going to set up a Patreon Site to try to bring us together . I think it will help. There, i will offer a Premium package for OTR. Are Stem Cell Repair Patches for Real? Can they treat mental health, Alzheimer's and other conditions?

Meet Darlene Greene, Co-Author of the Best-Selling Book "Become Empowered - Echoes of Grace and Strength”. Darlene is a retired navy commander with over twenty-six years of executive leadership and senior management across many diverse industries. Darlene is focused on helping people optimize their physical and emotional health without drugs or pharmaceuticals. She advocates for a new type of method for healing the mind and body called photo biomodulation technology which involves stem cell repair of DNA. Is this type of treatment real? And could it treat Mental Health, Alzheimer’s and other health conditions? It is not an infomercial for a miracle drug that fixes everything. However, I thought she presented her case well and so I think it’s worth a listen. Innocence Lost - Family Molestation (PTSD)

In this episode, Krystal Clark shares her story of her molestation at the age of seven from her cousin who was even younger. This abuse and the shame she felt triggered her Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) later in life. Krystal Clark is now doing well in her recovery. She is an Author, Blogger, Life Coach, Public Speaker, and Data Management Professional. Krystal has published several books including a Fantasy Fiction book called “Balance Of Power” which chronicles the mental toll trauma can take. Krystal also has a podcast called ‘Moving with Meaning-The Podcast’ in which she talks about many topics. This is an important episode about the effects of this type of trauma, especially at such a young age. It is my opinion that this type of abuse is rampant in the U.S. and around the world. In a lot of cases these acts cause great mental anguish throughout the victim’s life. I feel in most cases it goes unreported because of the shame victims feel. If we work together this world would be a much better place to live in. Since this month is Mental Health month, now is the time to fight for our and our children’s contentment and happiness. This world is what we make it. Suffering is a part of life, like losing. You have to grow from it. We do not need to add to it by hiding in shame and fearing judgement from others. Society gives you permission to drink or take harmful drugs that only cover up the pain for a short time. The damage mental health issues do to our society is everywhere. What would it be like if you were happy and achieving mental health for real.
