Informative podcast

I am so happy to have stumbled upon this podcast. Every now and then I put selective Mutism in the search and not much comes up except stuff for professionals. Today this was the first one to pop up. I love hearing the personal experiences of someone with SM along with what the parents go through. My son is 5 and we’re pretty certain he has SM. He already has a diagnosis of autism, anxiety, SPD and ADHD. He has never been able to talk with anyone at school, even peers, in the last 2.5 years. Sometimes he will whisper to his aide or SLP. I’d love to hear an episode on IEPs and getting the school to address the issue with everyone on the same page. His teacher is not understanding at all. Thank you for putting yourself out on a limb to create such an important podcast. Even if I wasn’t learning anything (which I am) it’s nice to know I’m not alone.

Thank you, very useful!

Our daughter just started Kindergarten and we now see she is trying to meet the challenges of selective mutism. This is very informative and encouraging to us as parents. Thank you for creating it!
