The Trans Sporter Room -- Ash Hall and Meghan Crutchley: Fighting To Make Sports Better

Inclusion in sports has had a lot of winning moments in 2021, but it hasn't come without a fight and one of the battleground has been the state of Texas and now 5 attempts to legalize discrimination of transgender students who just want to play. Karleigh sat down with Texan legislative analyst and activist Ash Hall, who gives us an inside view of all those messes down in Texas. Hall also delves into a sci-fi "What If". What if Doctor Who was a Lone Star?
Then we look an ambitious step to make the fitness and training spaces better spaces. Karleigh interviews Meghan Crutchley, a non-binary trainer and queer health advocate who is building a curriculum with the goal of making learning about LGBTQ inclusion a piece of the process to certify trainers and fitness pros.

Michael Spencer has represented Gus Kenworthy throughout his career - Five Rings To Rule Them All

Michael Spencer is a legend in the world of action-sports agents. He has represented some of the most successful athletes, including Olympic champions and one Gus Kenworthy. He's been with Kenworthy since the early days of the star skier's career. He joins us this week to talk about how he "stumbled" into representing world-class skiers, and why he - a straight man - has been so passionate about elevating Kenworthy and supporting him through his coming-out process. Spencer now represents two other gay athletes, including Olympic speed skating hopeful and US Champion Conor McDermott-Mostowy. And he offers sage advice to any gay athlete whose agent tells them to stay in the closet.

3SYO #91: White Sox Postmortem with Fritz Nothnagel

Throughout the 2021 season, the White Sox appeared to be living up to the hype: an über-talented fun-loving juggernaut of a roster that was bludgeoning its way through the American League. It felt like they were taking the next step in their development as a genuine World Series contender as the calendar turned to October.
    Four games later, they gone.
Friend of the pod Fritz Nothnagel is back to figure out what just happened and tell me how far the Sox really are from competing with a potential dynasty* like the Astros.
*You know what this asterisk is for.
We break down how Lance Lynn & the pitching staff fell apart against Houston's relentless lineup, the emergence of important role players like Leury García, and Tony La Russa's doddering bullpen management. Ultimately, though, Fritz still feels good about this season and where his team is headed in the future--as well he should!
