She has also written four cookbooks, judged two seasons of Recipe to Riches, hosted a number of television specials, and appeared as a guest judge on Iron Chef America and Top Chef Canada.

Laura holds undergraduate degrees in liberal arts and linguistics, a Master’s in social and organizational psychology from the London School of Economics, and a post-graduate certificate in cross-cultural studies. In 2011, she was named a knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit (l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole) by the French government, one of the country’s highest civilian honours.

After a decade in France, Laura now lives in Toronto, where she was named a 2019 ADWEEK Toronto brand star. She is married to author and journalist, Peter Scowen.
