Sarah McNamara worked in Boston as a residency coordinator when she started having symptoms, she was diagnosed with POTS while she was in Boston but her health continued to deteriorate.

Eventually she became unable to continue her career there and moved back home to Syracuse to take better care of her health and pursue an online masters in Health Communication.

It took three years before she was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. She has returned to her career in the medical field and also works as a patient advocate for people with Lyme disease.
